I've lived on and worked in the water or sea most of my life. A lot of that time was a career that allowed me to live in several US states and work in both the Atlantic & Pacific oceans and I've also spent some time in the Bearing Sea. I currently spend my winters in the Rocky Mountains of Utah and my summers on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. When I started selling my decoys and bird carvings on Ebay, I was an active commercial shrimp fisherman in North Carolina - hence ncshrimper as my Ebay sellers name.

I've always enjoyed the feeding and watching of birds and waterfowl. I began carving decoys about thirty seven years ago by making and rigging my own decoys for duck hunting. It's been years since I've hunted but the early years of hunting, carving, and fishing, combined with my association with and from being related to some now famous decoy carvers - plus a genuine love of woodworking, has guided me to continue this pleasing and fulfilling tradition.

Over the years, I've been a member of several waterfowl and woodcarving related organizations and I have shown and sold my work at many shows and in various locations across the US. I have been a ribbon winner at competitions and decoy painting contests sponsored by different shows, although I no longer compete in these events.

I've sold my carvings under the name of Feathers In Wood since 1980 and I've been selling on Ebay since Wednesday, Mar 29, 2000 . I make several different styles of decoys, shorebirds, and other collectible items - including some fishing and maritime related items. From my experiences of living in different areas of the country I've learned to make other unique items such as lobster trap buoys and nautical knot or fancywork. And since learning to use a wood lathe to create bases for my bird carvings, I am sometimes able to offer for sale some turned wooden items. I also sell woodcarving and sewing patterns plus other collectible items I've found or collected from various locations.

I do my best to describe my items accurately and honestly. I'll treat you the way I want to be treated on Ebay or anywhere else. I maintain open communications with my customers and pride myself on taking the time to properly package and promptly ship the items I've sold.
