Hello! My name is Greg Nelson and I live in Modesto, Calif., USA. Modesto is about 100 miles due east of San Francisco in the agricultural San Joaquin valley. Modesto is perhaps best known for being the home of "American Graffiti" - a classic movie about cars, cruising, drive -ins and rock and roll. This classic movie was the creation of famous moviemaker and director George Lucas just before his Star Wars legacy started. American Graffiti is based on George's personal experiences during his high school years at Thomas Downey High school in Modesto, and cruising 10th Street. George grew up in Modesto and he and I attended the same schools although he was a few years ahead of me. I have been involved in the collectibles business for many years now - and enjoy buying and selling collectibles - especially the 1950s and 1960s era. One of my current projects right now is going through a sizable record collection I obtained a few years ago. It looks like a lot of the 45’s came from a radio station as they are white labels or marked ”promotional”. Many have stickers on the label that look like a cataloging system that the station used, and some have comments written on the label by the DJ. I hope that you check back with my store often as I will be adding these slowly but surely. At this time, I have developed an interest in the "Northern Soul" music genre. I am currently (spring and summer 2009) auctioning many records that are listed in Manship's Rare Soul price guide. Please check in often as I try to list new soul 45 records each week.
Also, many people ask, "What's with the "zeb" in your email address "nelsonzeb?" I have posted a picture of Zeb, also known as Zebulon, or formal name Zebulon Van Nelson. He is an eleven year old chihuahua. He enjoys collectibles too and helps me with my e-bay shipping. He puts his stamp of approval on every shipment before it goes out-look for it on your package!
