NEMO

|
Nemo has lived in many states and had a background in politics and religion before moving on to art. Much of his art is done ambidexterously. He loves collecting books of ethnographic art and finds inspiration by going to museums to look at collections of ancient and tribal artifacts. You can watch a short movie of the ambidextrous art process here. His website, with about a dozen guest galleries can be found here. His work has been shown throughout the United States and Europe. He was recently featured in Korea's Graphic Design magazine . You can check out some small scans at: 1, 3, 4. He spent the summer developing his ambidextrous performance painting style at multiple festivals and painted with Space Station Integration, Perpetual Groove, Snake Oil Medicine Show, Wisdom, Lost At Last, Medicine Drum, Steve Kimock Band and Spearhead, among others. He was photographed at the Spearhead show and it was on the cover of the local Humbolt paper here. You can see some performance shots here: 1: 2, 3.

EMMA BROCHIER

|
I'm from Lille, France and have traveled and sold art throughout Europe. I love the work of Jackson Pollock, Jean Michel Basquiat, Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt and strives to put my heart and gut in plain view on the canvas.
I don't like to explain my work, but want to allow the viewer to draw their own conclusions from my primal emotional expressions.
I've been passionate about painting since I was fourteen as a result of two important events in my life.
The first was the death of my grandfather who played the role of father, brother, friend and protector in my life.
The second event, was my visit to the Louvre in Paris.
Seeing the museum allowed me to discover another language to express myself and my views of the world.
These two events simultaneously gave me both the inspiration to create and the need to express my pain through primal artistic catharsis.
This lead me to express in paint the connections and conflicts between people and between human beings and God.
Words could not help me. My indescribable emotions were too intense to be framed by sentences and paragraphs.
My style is a dance, spinning around beholden to the rythm of my emotions. Painting with strokes both fluid and jerky, I must be honest in my body's expression. I feel a symphony of sensation that has this request: to be respected and to be heard.

Robert Venosa Robert Venosa was born in New York City and traveled to study with European visionary master painters in the late 60s. He studied under Ernst Fuchs and Mati Klarwein, considered by many to be among to greatest painters in the past century. Under the tutelage of Mati Klarwein, Venosa learned to paint the fantastic with incredible detail as their New York City loft was visited by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, Jackie Kennedy and Dr. Timothy Leary. He moved to Europe where he lived near Salvadore Dali, who became a friend and had this to say of Venosa's work: "Bravo Venosa! Dali is pleased to see spiritual madness painted with such a fine technique." His work has been seen around the world and is kept in the private collections of many from rock stars to the aristocracy; his work has adorned the CD covers of Santana and Kitaro. Dhira

|
Self taught with no specific style to emulate, Dhira Lawrence has chosen a path that attempts to break the preconceived notion of what art has to be. Dhira attended the Honolulu Waldorf School, which allowed her to express her creativity at an early age. A spiritual upbringing that centered on Goddess energy along with the natural beauty of Hawaii helped her to form a power bond with the earth and her many forms. This is what is expressed in her art. She has displayed her work in San Francisco, Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest and her images have touched people across the globe.

Jeff Hopp

|
I believe that true art is foremostly a form of communication. For me to be interested in a piece, it must tell me something. An artist can communicate many things....ideas, emotions, events, beliefs, etc. As for my art, I am interested in illustrating events and experiences that I have witnessed on my spiritual journeys. It is a method of capturing moments that cannot be documented in any other way.
They are places that can't be photographed, and I feel that is important to share them with others.

Carey Thompson

|
Carey Thompson grew up on the east coast in Virginia and North Carolina. He then traveled throughout the western United States ending up in New Mexico where he spent a year creating a core resonance with the American southwest. Afterwards, Carey embarked on a four-year adventure throughout Central America harnessing the winds of synchrocicity. Exploring countless natural power spots and Mesoamerican sacred sites, he developed a keen interest in ancient cultures and their expression through the arts and cosmology. Desiring a more rooted foundation, Carey landed in the beautiful lands of Costa Rica where he spent a few years tapping deep into the currents of Gaian creation. Copious amounts of surfing and jungle trekking activated his being to near saturation point as he continued to channel this energy into creativity. He currently resides in San Francisco, California where he now focuses on his artistic endeavors. Carey describes his work as holomorphic transmission vision crystals. The imagery channels through, sourced from the universal matrix, and crystallizes into form onto templates based on sacred geometry and other patterns of nature. Beginning usually with only a seed of intention, the color and form evolve unconsciously to create the finished art. Revealing the interconnectedness of all things is the primary intention of Carey's artwork.

Chris Dyer

|
Chris Dyer is a nice guy. He’s a human striving for the betterness in himself and humanity. A soul on a quest for new conciousnesses through meditation, phisical travelling and natural drug experimentations. A medium of the Most High who opens his vessel and tries to let go of the temporary ego and complications of his mind. He grew up in Lima, Peru till the age of 17 where he engaged in such activities as surfing, skateboarding, soccer fanatism (that lead him to many adventures with his ex-street gang), etc. Now he lives in Montreal where he continues his journey to become himself. Art has always been a constant since a man like him cannot be happy without expression sweating through his pores.

Kris Davidson

Every piece of art that I have created is part of an ongoing narrative that is evolving from one original doodle. This doodle was drawn 11 years ago. It looked like a psychedelic glob of melting, paisley like patterns. The many drawings that followed became more fluid and meticulous and eventually, symmetrical. This theme continued into the medium of painting. When I transferred one of these drawings onto a canvas and painted it, I had to paint another. This became an obsession and I painted devoutly. Each painting would reveal something new for me to carry into the next project. This theme leads up to what I am working on currently. As the paintings are continuing to develop and grow, this evolving doodle is simultaneously moving into digital art. My vision is for that to lead into animation, where the geometry will move and synchronize with music. Ultimately I see the evolution of this doodle becoming a temple, the architectural manifestation of my paintings.
The "evolution of a doodle" is a theme that I have discovered in my work that has helped show me who I am, and why I am here. It has helped unify my experiences so that I can move forward through change as a whole being. It reflects a universal process of evolution that is shared amongst all life. This common thread expressed through geometry is intended to inspire others who have found their paths in life and to help trigger the paths in others who are unaware of theirs' yet.

Luke Brown

|
Luke is an intrepid explorer, part of a new generation of visionaries creating the templates for the reconstruction of culture as we know it. His art speaks to the spiritual mysteries in the human imagination. Mystical experiences, dreams, channels and medicine journeys seem to guide and be guided by the colorful symmetries and living surfaces of his Art Works. Much of his work is a graceful synthesis of computer and painting mediums. Developing his art through mix and remix technologies, Luke is constantly redefining his style as a spiritual medium for growth. His art has been shown internationally with such visionary heavyweights as Alex Grey, HR Giger, Robert Venosa and Ernst Fuchs. He is currently a resident of the Elphinstone Rainforest, one of an infinite number of parallel universes in which he resides within simultaneously.

Scott Cranmer

My obsession with the mystical, spiritual and esoteric aspects of life began about ten years ago when my high school chemistry teacher told the class about his experiences with astral projection. I remember getting chills about the thought of an astral body and the possibility of projecting it out of the physical. I deeply immersed myself in books about the subject. This lead to readings on Kundulini, the Cabala, Carlos Castaneda, Aleister Crowley, Hinduism, Buddhism and Terrence McKenna to name a few.
In college I majored in psychology, for I still did not embrace my artistic side and was conditioned to believe that it was not a career possibility.
I began experimenting with spiritual practices such as meditation. I also discovered the mystic art of Alex Grey. His depiction of our "true nature" reinforced my own beliefs and experiences.I later discovered other great visionary artists such as Robert Venosa, H.R. Giger, Ernst Fuchs and Gustave Moreau. It was not until after college (and a few 9-5 jobs) that I decided to dedicate myself fully to my art. I have no formal training. I believe that one can transcend technique if one is fully committed and allows the will and intent to come through.
In my artwork I almost always work from the bottom up. Like a musicalcomposition, I lay the foundation and work towards a climax. Then it becomes a matter of tension; push and pull, give and take, light and dark, good and evil. This leads to a symmetry that is reinforced by my experience as a twin. All the while I am still aiming for redemption and transcendence of duality.

Simon Haiduk

Growing up in a small town, I feel a great need to promote community and sustainable living. Realizing that to be sustainable, we must be a global as well as local community. Because we live in such glorious, yet perilous times, the search for truth, balance and harmony to this existence means a lot to me. It is my hope that humanity can evolve and break through the constant barrage of mind controlling madness that is so abundant in mainstream consumerism. We must work hard to build a future for our children, which will not be full of grief and garbage.
As we step into the New Age, let us find peace and love amongst our brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers, and all beings that share this beautiful Earth, our Mother Gaia.
