There is a world of information available on maps and map collecting, and we are happy to list below links to sites which we have found useful.

1. For help in dating road maps, click here for a site that deciphers the secret codes that the two largest map makers used to identify the date of publication on their maps.

2. Each year the largest antiquarian map fair in the Western Hemisphere is held at the Historical Museum of Southern Florida in Miami. We exhibit fine antique maps at the fair and would be happy to have you stop by our booth at the Miami Map Fair. Here's our booth at a recent fair:

3. One of the best portals to information on maps and mapmaking on the world wide web is: Odden's Bookmarks. This site contains more than 22,500 cartographic links.

4. Two other specific sites with useful information on antique maps are the Rumsey map collection and the Library of Congress.

5. If you are interested in vintage road maps, you may like to consider joining Road Map Collectors of America. We are long-time members of this organization. The RMCA hosts swap meets and publishes an informative newsletter.

6. Two RMCA members who maintain helpful sites with hundreds of images of oil company road maps are Jon Roma and Ian Byrne. And for the RMCA site which lists all known "official" state and provincial highway maps (maps produced by state or provincial governments), click here.

7. If you are looking for an up-to-date map for business or travel purposes, you can find dozens of current map publishers and retailers through the International Map Trade Association.
