Greetings to all who may visit my page, while I offer each and every one of you a warm welcome, a glass of iced tea, and a slice of Georgia pecan pie...Southern Style! :))
I am from the great state of Georgia and have been living here all my life, I live in the NWpart of Georgia where its only just a thirty minute drive to Tenn. or Ala. I am a single 48 yo male and I have been a collector and admirer for about ten years now. I admire and collect a wide range of interest, such as a one who should only collect a certain kind of interest yet as for me I have many. :) I guess that its safe to say that I am not a typical male collector in being that I dont collect what would be expected, like those that I may try and share in what I collect expresses a surprise in what I do collect, and that would be Barbies which is in the forefront of what my interest is, then followed by Baseball, diecast, models, vintage, old, and/or rare, and yes even what would be of value as an investment later down the road. I collect and admire for the KID in me, and also the things that I wish to have and own as an adult. I can say that I am a novice collector in being that I am knowledgable and informative but not an expert, in other words I collect and admire what I would desire to own first! and not the value and/or desirability of others later. I was somewhat disillusioned by the fact that when I first began to collect and admire what I was interested in I quickly found that the most ideal item to own was an item that has never been removed from its box or package, thus being the commanding item of interest of others, and would be held above all the rest in value and desirability, thus ensuring that any other item that may have been removed from its box or package and/or "played with" has not much value or desirability at all. so that one has been hard to swallow with me, for I do collect nrfb items yet I do collect and admire [if not more of] what has been "played with". so sure I agree with what an item should be worth in being the condition that its in, but why drop a value and/or desirability of an item to nothing more than "junk" if it has been removed from its box and played with?? the item is still vintage or old and/or not around much anymore and so it should hold a high desirability by its own right no matter what. so show me a 1959 Barbie nude, been played with, and you will see a smile on my face after becoming her new owner and have dressed her and placed her on my shelf. :) now that is what collecting is all about! in my eyes, for I refuse to give up that I'm still just A KID AT HEART :))
thankyou for visiting my page, and getting to know me better. :)
