NoMonet

I’m an artist who works in many different mediums. I’ve been the driving force behind two beautiful decks of cards you can view and purchase in Borders Bookstores, internet stores, on my website or from me thru Ebay. I coordinated with 25 artists to create the art in the Artist’s Inner Vision Tarot, created the art for three cards and the card back myself, wrote the book of explanations and supervised printing and production of the cards and book. For the playing card deck, Colors of the Four Seasons I did the same. Both decks are unusually beautiful and unique collections of art. Check them out. You won't see better collections of lovely collage style art anywhere.

I started using my art pseudonym NoMonet in 1988 as a self-effacing joke. My art has never been classical or mainstream so I said, “I’m no Monet, so what?” It was back in the day when rubber stamping was king and taking an art pseudonym was a fun way of thumbing your nose at the traditional art establishment. It's been a fun short and sweet art name to sign my work, as well as for my business name.

In addition to creating art I write. I've written a vampire novel that has yet to be published. Recently I wrote a short story that will be published in Jill Jones art zine, Brainwaves at some point in the future. Jill is a creativity coach and a very busy one too, so I suspect the next zine may wait for some time. My actual name is Steph King (no relation to the king of horror).

LATEST STUFF: My wonderful, gentle and sweet Rottie Snacks died last Monday of lymphoma. His care had consumed me the past couple of months. I'll get back into the swing of things soon. I actually have quite a few new designs to list here and on my various sale sites. However, it will wait a little longer since a Rottie Rescue group in Texas, Katy's Promise has a beautiful gentle soul named Farley for me to adopt. My husband and I are flying out to pick him up on Saturday and drive him to his new home with us.
