Coins & Bullion . . . when well-cared for, lost in a preserving environment, or properly stored, their lifespan can easily triple or quadruple that of a human. For example, my oldest coin, an 1828 Classic Head Half Penny, has seen the adminstrations of 38 of the 44 U.S. Presidents (i.e., from John Quincy Adams to Barrack Obama). Many of my coins have survived various of the following national crises: the Mexican-American War (1846-1848), Civil War (1861-1865), Spanish-American War (1898), World War I (1914-1918), Prohibition (1920-1933), Roaring 20s, Great Depression (1929-1942), World War II (1939-1945), Korean War (1950-1953), Cuban Missle Crisis (1962), Vietnam War (1959-1975), Gulf War (1990-1991), Presidency of George W. Bush (2001-2009), World Trade Center/Pentagon Attacks (2001), Afganastani War (2001-Present, Iraqi War (2003-Present), and the Great Recession (2008-Present).
Coins echo history. Coins were present during both our nation's most memorable events - from the Colonial Era to the Modern Era. They are, in a sense, magical windows into the past. They are history incarnate.

My (Sadly Former) Mistress on the Famous Rubicon Trail
|
Aside from my addiction to collecting, buying, and selling rare coins/fine bullion, I consider myself a well-rounded family man with signficiant interests in skiing, hiking, four-wheeling, exploring old mines/ghost towns, reading, and - of course - spending time with my wife and four children (ages 4-11).
I'm an attorney by trade, with my practice focus in civil litigation, emphasizing commerical, labor & employment, and construction law. I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah; and I've lived in: Draper, Utah; Sandy, Utah; San Diego, California; Chula Vista, California; Pacific Beach, California; El Cajon, California; Rancho Cucamonga, California; Santa Clarita, California; Roseville, California; and El Dorado Hills, California. Of those, I most enjoyed Salt Lake City, Pacific Beach, El Dorado Hills, and now back to Salt Lake City, which is my current residence. Next on the list? I'm looking at Bakersfield, California or Albuquerque, New Mexico.
