I'm a new author and self publisher. My first book is a thriller called Bloody Mary. In it, the setting is in Minnesota. The time, Friday the 13th, 2017. A devastating snow storm holds Minnesota in complete duress, and soon spreads throughout the world. Scientists and meteorologists attribute the strange phenomena to global warming while Minnesotans attribute it to the legendary Bloody Mary after their Minneapolis teens become victims of gruesome and mysterious deaths apparently as a result of summoning the murderous monster. The book has a moral quality, for it is without swears, and Bloody Mary cannot harm virgins, thus promoting chastity amongst our teens. This is an awesome book. Many reviewers think the book will make a great movie. A wonderful and teaching gift : )
I also create and illustrate children books that are useful learning tools for kids. I am a licensed Minister for the Lord. I've raised money for families to assist the children in returning back to school by providing clothing and utensils necessary for learning. As a child, I was raised by my caring grand parents, Rev. Pinky Joe Jackson and Mrs. Georgia Jackson. Surrounded by me, my young uncle, aunt and cousins when the lights went out due to powerful and frightening thunderstorms, my favorite auntee Denise would tell us scary tales as the thunder rumbled and popped, and lightning flashed dangerously. The flame of the candle which was lit for lack of light in total darkness danced on the walls as it cast its ghostly shadows. I sometimes would scoot closer to her with my thumb in my mouth for comfort lol as many stories were told. One of those tales was Bloody Mary. It was frightening but fun and told in many households. There are not many you can mention the urban legend to and they not be familiar with it. It was an interesting treat so I thought I'd share it with children around the world. Again, being a Minister for the Lord, of course I gave the story a moral quality; the monster cannot harm virgins, thus promoting virginity and chastity amongst our young teenagers.
