The Wax Works has been in the manufacturing and distribution business for over 30 years.

 After enjoying a successful 30 years in the gourmet food manufacturing business we decided it was time to sell our company and keep the one division we enjoyed working with the most.

Our long term relationship with the beekeepers in the Northwest, a renewable source of beeswax, plus owning 6,000 square feet of warehousing, beeswax processing equipment, offices and shipping facilities made it an easy decision to continue to specialize in our favorite product - Beeswax.

The Source of Beeswax

When the honey is the right moisture content the honeybees cap the cells full of honey for storage. The beekeeper only takes off the excess honey from the hive so the honeybees have enough food for the season. 

The cappings are trimmed off with a hot knife and the honey spun out of the extractor by centrifical force from the comb. This process saves the bees the work of rebuilding new honey comb. The excess cappings are cleaned and melted to give you pure and natural beeswax.

The color and scent of the beeswax is determined by what kind of honey was stored in the comb. Black honey such as Buckwheat and Avacado gives you our dark beeswax.

Natural beeswax is a variation of yellows with a honey scent which is triple filtered and graded cosmetic.
