Hi I guess you could call me the "Sourdough lady"! I'm a stay at home mom with nine homeschooled children. I'm lucky enough to get to bake sourdough several times a week!
I have a unique sourdough starter that was cultured here in the Coastal Northwest. This starter has performed beyond all expectation and has generated a lot of interest (it's even been on T.V.!).
So I decided to sell the starter to other sourdough enthusiasts and thus in my small way help out with our goal of building our new home and home finances.
I created a web page to go along with the selling of the sourdough starter. The web site has techniques and recipes for the baking of the sourdough. There are Basic San Francisco Style, White Sourdough Bread,Malt flavored Whole Wheat, and Sour Rye recipes on the recipe page.On an Australian Sourdough site it was stated "The techniques area of your website (northwestsourdough.com) is an excellent documentation of sourdough process". Another site has asked if they can link to the website for their bread classes.

There is also a Yahoo group for Northwest Sourdough. On the forum I post pictures of the newly baked bread from my kitchen. So if you are interested in baking sourdough, you are in good company! I now also offer a Unique Old World Australian Sourdough Starter with a recipe for Aussie Bread and an Alaskan sourdough starter with a super fast rise of only 3.5 hours!


Through the efforts of Randy Prewitt,news anchor,this Sourdough Starter and Web Site www.northwestsourdough.com were featured on Channel 8 KNOE / CBS affiliate by Dianne Cage during the April 25th 2006, "What's Cooking"segment.(Thankyou Dianne Cage and KNOE channel 8 !)
