Hi and welcome to our auctions ! Basically what you will find here is fabric remnants from a nearby factory that has done work for everyone from country singers to Hillary Clinton and then regular old joes like the rest of us . I happen to be a fabric junkie. I love to dig through the stacks and buy it but of course I can't use all of what I have access to so I list it for all of you other fabric junkies out there.

If you have read my auctions you are probably under the impression that I am a tyrant. Let me tell you I am not. I've just adopted some rules because of specific problems I have encountered with some buyers who either are unfamiliar with e-bay or they just want to be difficult. For the 99.9% of you out there who understand e-bay and have helped to make it a sucess I hope you won't take offense!

Every now and then I get a phone call from someone who wants me to sell some of their things for them. Usually it's friends of my grandmother who get a kick out of the idea that you can make them a couple dollars "on the computer". The great thing is that to them it's old junk . To me and about a billion other people out there it is primitive or vintage treasures that we can't wait to display in our houses. Some of it never gets to the computer because it finds its home here but other things have brought joy not only to the buyer but to the seller as well !

I do want to ask that you are patient with me for the duration of the summer. I am going to continue listing things but as the summer progresses it will be harder for me to list in quantity as I have been for 2 reasons. First we have adopted a 5 year old from Liberia Africa named Titus . Titus turned 6 in June and will be going to School this year. Second I gave birth to our daughter , Zion Nevaeh, in July. For those of you who are interested she weighed 7 lbs 6 1/2 oz and was 21" long. She came in record time , unlike her brother 8 years ago who took his sweet time getting out! She is a precious baby but I am still tryng ot get into the swing of things having gone from one child to 3 practically over night . Yes our (up to this point) only son has had his world turned upside down, which is reason #3. I might also mention that along with our adoption my parents adopted as well. They started thier process of adoption 10 years ago with my brother Isaiah , then came my now 8 1/2 year old brother Eli , then my now 7 year old sister ( Finally a girl !!!) Kezia . Just when we thought they were finished along came the twins , sister Halle and brother Samuel , from the same orphanage in Liberia as Titus . Halle and Sam were born on my mom's 50th birthday no less. We live about 3 miles from one another so between the 2 of us we have 8 kids all 10 years and younger in age. Four of them were added to the family in the last 5 months. Needless to say we don't go to many places together! So please have mercy on me ( On US !) in the patience dept. We're doing our best !

Let me also mention thee two sellers. My mom sells top of the line kids clothes ( trust me on this one ... she is a clothes junkie. Those kids wear nothing but the best so that's what she sells!) , all brand name and in super condition but she doesn't always have time to list because she has 5 kids still at home. However check in with her if you like : her Seller ID is :

eviewynne

also check out our neighbors auctions. They sell everything from ( as the saying goes ) soup to nuts. I have seen some of their treasures and you won't want to miss out on them. Their Seller ID is

grape81559

They are new to e-bay but very honest and hard working people so don't let their low feedback score scare you!

I am also still working with

Bridging the Gap

Many have asked about it and I would like to explain here a little about the mission.

Bridging the Gap is a not for profit organization that was created and set into motion by my cousin Dr. Mike Talberg. His call from God was to go into Africa and establish makeshift clinics to treat children for diseases common to that part of the world that these kids would otherwise die from. He travels twice a year, at least, to visit his clinics , check on the kids and just spend a little time in the sun ( We Minnesotans need to get away when it's -60 here ).

I traveled with him as his clinic nurse to Nigeria where I not only fell in love with the climate and the land but the kids 100 times over. We treated 500+ kids in about 7 days and litterally watched them recover before our eyes. Our research has proven our efforts to be quite effective. The death rate has decreased by 26% just from the administration of daily vitamins to these children. That doesn't include the medications we give for typhoid , malaria and any other infections that we might encounter. Each child that we see gets a year supply of vitamins , one dose of medication to cure a case of malaria , one dose for typhoid and one antibiotic for a probable infection they might contract after we leave. This costs about $9 per year per child.

Our time as well as our own money is donated as well. Our travel as well as all of our needs while we are visiting comes from our own pockets. Any donated funds go directly to buying medication for the kids. The clinic is located at a local facility that houses not only the community school , church, and now our clinic but an orphanage as well. When we leave if we have extra money it goes to the orphanage to help with expenses. We have wonderful staff members working diligently to keep things going after we leave.

The statistics are staggering. The one that gets me every time is they predict that by the year 2010 there will be over 10 million orphans in Africa. It seems like we have so much on our own plates but when we look at the rest of the world we realize that our problems can't top 10 million orphans homeless and starving. Pray for them and those who have been called to help.

Since my trip to Nigeria stole my heart we decided to go one step further and contacted an adoption agency about adopting orphaned kids from Africa. Titus lived in an orphanage in Monrovia Liberia (just up the coast from Nigeria) for almost 2 years . Bridging the Gap has donated money to his orphanage for medication as well, although we haven't had the oppertunity to travel to Monrovia to set up a Bridging the Gap Clinic as of yet. Of course that orphanage is near and dear to my heart as well because they saved the life of my little boy.

Both orphanages do wonderful work , are Christian based, are doing what they feel God has called them to do, and are being blessed for doing this good work. I'm just an instrument in the orchestra. If you are interested in helping these kids (I'm not asking you to GO to Africa with me, I promise!!!) Please contact me at karaanne@paulbunyan.net and lets chat. We take donations in the form of childrens vitamins , bandages , salves, gloves , clothing , blankets, school supplies, small toys and books , and any other thing that might be useful to under priviledged kids. As a guideline for churches or other organizations that wish to gather up a lot of things as a group we go by this : Items enough to fill a 55 gallon drum will cost $150 to ship to Liberia. Have a toy or clothing or medical supply drive and set out a jar for donations. You will be surprised at how quickly you get not only enough to fill several 55 gallon drums but also how much of the shipping cost is donated at the same time. If you decide to do this let me know and I will provide you with the information on where to send your items. Of course money in general is always a HUGE help. You can paypal money to us , or send your donations of items or money via postal mail or UPS , or we do take credit cards for donations as well. If you can't donate at this time your prayers are not only welcomed but appreciated more than words can express. Thanks for anything and everything that you feel led to help with .

God Bless You All! Kara
