Virgil C. Stephens,
originally from Globe, Arizona, now resides in the Loma Grande Mountain range, just south of Nogal, New Mexico.
"We call our little piece of Heaven, the Notevena Ranch".
Specializing in conte drawings, oil paintings,
pencil drawings, pastels, and bronze sculptures, Virgil is a full-time artist, drawing upon what
he knows. Being raised a cowboy, other than painting, he
spends time in the saddle hunting, does a little team roping, and
enjoys a good cigar.
His paintings depict western & wildlife with a
bit of Patriotic and romance, as well as cowboy golf and even a
little bit of jazz and blues influence.
His bronzes depict western and stylized and
tends to lean towards sculpting horses and Native American art for the most
part.

For those
of you that are wondering if I am a real artist, do I really paint these
pictures?, and sculpt these bronzes?, the answer is YES. I make my living
solely from the sale of art. If you would like a signed statement with
your purchase authenticating that I am who I say I am, and what you are
purchasing is what I say it is, no problem! Some call it a Certificate of
Authenticity, I call it a signed statement, and although most of my customers
have not ask me for one, I would not have a problem giving you one.
Artists that are not willing to stand behind their work, "buyer beware". I
am proud to say that I have had no unsatisfied customers and no returns in 27
years as a professional artist.
