I'm Gayle and these are a few of my "Raggedies"

I have been creating Raggedy Ann and other related
characters for many years. I currently make over 20
different characters, adding "new" characters
as time allows....PLUS a large variety of Ann & Andys
& Beloved Belindys too!
I have added new pages for each of my
characters giving a little history and information .I've also
added lots of new pages with lots of information
and pictures covering the Raggedy history from 1915
to present......I think you will ENJOY MY NEW
WEBSITE !!!
Through eBay and my website, my dolls now
reside in each of our 50 states, and several other countries....
including Japan, England,Canada,Australia & Puerto Rico.
I have also made replacement clothing for a number of Collectors .
I have made so many new
"Raggedy" friends through my dolls
In 2004, my husband
Frank and I, traveled with our granddaughter, Courtney to
the Raggedy Festival in Arcola, Illinois.
My dolls were a Great Success and it was such fun and my great pleasure to meet many of
YOU in person and make many new friends as well!
Raggedy friends are the BEST!!! Thank you all
for all of your encouragement and support!
And for making my "Raggedies" the success that
they are.......it has exceeded my wildest dreams!
My dolls have traveled to places I will never see....
it's like a small part of me gets to travel along on their New Adventures!
Most of my dolls are "inspired" by Gruelle's
wonderful illustrations in his Raggedy Storybooks, however,
I also take great pride in creating reproductions reminiscent
of the "vintage" dolls created by Volland, Molly-'Es,
Georgene and Knickerbocker. I strive to capture the
most "unique" details that set each one apart
from the others and makes it recognizable to
the avid Raggedy Collector.
For example, the very "unique" bandana design
and polka-dot fabric of the Knickerbocker Belindy.
I even created an "original" counter-part for her
named "Benji".

My "Gruelle Family of Character Dolls"
have won numerous awards and ribbons including the
1st Place Sweepstakes Award!! five years in a row and Best of Show !!
 
And now.....About "Me"
I have been
married to my wonderful husband, Frank for 39 years. We have
a daughter who lives about 3 miles away with her husband and our granddaughter, Courtney 12 and grandson , Derek 7
who fondly refer to us as "MEME" and "PAPA".
We live on a small (3 acres) "Ranch" located
in the central San Joaquin Valley of California
(located between Los Angeles and San Francisco).
We both grew up in the country and enjoy
returning to our roots and sharing the experience
with our grandchildren.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
We have a large family orchard
and the children enjoy watching the fruit mature, then picking
and sometimes baking with home-grown fruit. The children love squeezing and making Good Old Fashioned Lemonade in the summertime and Orange and Grapefruit Juice in the winter. .
We have a large vegetable garden as well.
Although they are not fond of zucchini...they enjoy watching it grow
and love picking each vegetable as soon as it is ready!
Carrots are great fun to grow and feed to the goats
and horse fresh from the garden!
This year we have added Watermelon and Cantelope as well.

We now have a horse named "Patches" a beautiful
3 year old Tobiano Paint, who loves to be brushed and
hugged and fed carrots and lettuce from our garden.
We have 6 baby goats, Snowflake, Gingerbread, Sweetheart,
Valentine, Bronson, and Jack (all bottle fed), a kitten
named "Sissy" and two Boston Terriors named "Elsie" and
"Missy". The children enjoy collecting the eggs from our
eight hens.(raised from baby chicks)
Oh, and don't forget the dozen or so gold fish
who swim in "Patch's" watering trough.

I have enjoyed sewing since I was a young girl
my mother was a wonderfully skilled seamstress
and I always wanted to learn to sew
Just like her !!!
I began by making many of my own clothes and eventually
those of my daughter.
Later I learned to create curtains, draperies and chair cushions
like those I found in the finer stores and magazines, but couldn't afford...
I was able to update the look of my home, for much less than the retail eqivalent.
I was introduced to eBay in 1999 when
my daughter listed a pair of Ann & Andys I had made.
I have always loved Raggedy Ann,
but was not familiar with all of the other storybooks and related characters.
As I began to learn more and more about the
different Raggedy characters, I felt that I just HAD to bring them
all back to "New Life"....and the rest as they say
.............is HISTORY!!!
I was determined to learn HTML and Web Designing
....so my daugter bought me several books and
I began to create my website.
I am proud of my work and would love
to share what I've learned with you!
I would like to encourage you to take some time to visit each of my pages so that you can learn more about each of Gruelle's characters and also to see more of my creations.
You will also find additonal links on many of the pages that will take you to pages that are not listed on the left hand "Menu" column.
For example, when you visit my Beloved Belindy page, you will find links for each style of Belindy (Volland,Molly-'Es,
Georgene,Knickerbocker) and on the Raggedy Ann page you will find links to: hair colors & facial features so that you can select your favorites.
On my "Books" page, you will find links to actually view entire Gruelle books online. You can even download them if you would like to.
