We offer this LIFETIME return policy because WE HAVE FULL CONFIDENCE IN THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE AUTOGRAPHS WE SELL. WE DECIDED OUR RETURN POLICY SHOULD BETTER REFLECT WHAT OUR FEEDBACK SHOWS; THAT WE ARE AN HONEST, TRUSTWORTHY AUTOGRAPH DEALER. MOREOVER, WE PLAN TO BE HERE A LONG TIME*** If you've bought autos here on Ebay- you know that only a handful offer a LIFETIME AUTHENTICITY return policy. We've been at this at least a year as of January and are very thankful for our growing loyal customer base.
WE ARE AUTOGRAPH COLLECTORS FIRST AND FOREMOST! WE AQUIRE COLLECTIONS SOME LARGE, SOME SMALL. WE TAKE WHAT WE WANT AND SLOWLY, BUT SURELY, LIST THE REST HERE FOR YOU. WE GENERALLY HAVE TWO LISTINGS A MONTH, IF WE MANAGE A THIRD ALL THE BETTER.
***10/10/09- NOT SURE WHEN WE'RE GONNA GET BACK TO LISTING STUFF. Maybe a listing before December??? Thanks for stopping by and thanks for your continued patronage. We'll do our best to check the Ebay email at least once a month and our other email more often if you want to "talk" to us.*******
RE SHIPPING; For those who pay within the 48 hours of auction end, as we request, we will make every effort to ship within 48 hours (M - F) of Paypal's notification/email of your payment; we haven't missed one yet. For all others, we will ship once a week, Friday. In other words, if you want it ASAP, try to pay within those 48 hours. When your purchase does ship, you will receive an email from us with the USPS Confirmation/Tracking # so you'll know your purchase is on its way..
IT'S JUST A FEW CLICKS WITH PAYPAL. COMMUNICATE WITH US IF ANY ISSUES ARISE (ie, if you pay for all your Ebay winnings once a week, please just let us know what day you usually pay.)
WE SEND YOU AN EMAIL WITH THE DELIVERY CONFIRMATION/TRACKING NUMBER WHEN YOUR PURCHASE SHIPS SO YOU CAN TRACK IT.
COMBINED SHIPPING? YES! For each additional item won, there is no additional charge other then insurance. That's it.
WHY DO WE REQUIRE POSTAL SERVICE PRIORITY MAIL WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION AND INSURANCE? In short, to protect the Autographs and your purchase as they travel from us to you. Further, Delivery Confirmation is required for the Paypal protection. As true collectors, we treat these autographs as our own. We have bought autographs here, some that were merely shipped via first class mail with no padding and no protection whatsoever. Since we pack each and every auto in a toploader (auto lots being the exception) and use the rigid mailers provided by the Post Office for Priority Mail, we find that our autos arrive in the same condition shipped. The Delivery Confirmation # also allows both of us to track "were it is" and when it gets to you. We require insurance to protect US from lost package claims. PLEASE- IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS SHIPPING POLICY, DO NOT BID.
WHY ONLY PAYPAL TO A CONFIRMED USA ADDRESS? In short, to avoid fraud. Paypal equals little to no paperwork; none of this "the check's in the mail," no bouncing checks, no bogus/ fake money orders. USA equals no additional customs paperwork for the post office. Further, Paypal offers an additional layer of protection to those sellers who ship to to a PAYPAL CONFIRMED ADDRESS.
QUESTIONS? Please don't hesitate to ask.
PROVENANCE
"A" DISREGARD THIS ONE-
"B" This autograph came from one of three auto albums apparently compiled by a lady named Eleanor Magoon in the 40s as indicated by some of the inscriptions and her name written on one of the album’s "Please Write in My Book Page." They include actors, author/writers, musicians and a few politicians (which we may or may not list, depending on their prominence)
"C" This autograph comes from one of two auto albums which belonged to a fellow named "Saul" as indicated by some of the inscriptions. Some of the pages are dated "1932" by the signers, although most are not and no other years appear. You will see a number in one corner of the pages. These were present when obtained and generally correspond to an index that accompanied the albums.
"D" This autograph comes from an album maintained by one Ruth Foster Froemming as indicated by an "if found" entry on the front inside cover. It dates from the 30s to the 40s.
"E" This page comes from an album collected by Hollywood hairstylist Lily Dirigo. The only years that appear on these pages are 1931 & 1932, generally in chronological order; thus we can safely assume all are from that time frame.
"F" A single collection of ORIGINAL autographed sepia-toned portraits. Some dates are 1915, 1920, 22 23, 28, 32... Many have been personalized to Mr. Eddie Sullivan (and often his wife “Bee” as well). One refers to him as a “peerless manger.” An "E.J. Sullivan" managed French actress Sarah Bernhardt. Given the time frame of this autos, this may be the same Sullivan. Indeed one signer, singer Bloosom Seeley, inscribes; “What the great Madame Bernhardt said about you, goes for me.”
“G”- This pencil auto came from a vintage collection of actors and apparently behind the camera folks for the film “Night of June 13th.” (1932) The collection as found are on what might be photo album-type pages. It includes a (9”x 6”) promotional pamphlet for the film, as well as some (apparently) candid pics of some of the actors, along with a strip of photo negatives. The backs of some of these photos are dated “July 30, 1932” by hand. There is also what appears to be a local newspaper article from Ontario, California, dated July 28 19?? Headlined "PARAMOUNT PICTURES IS FILMING PART OF PICTURE HERE." The article refers to “The Night of June 13.” We assume these autographs, as well as the pictures, were collected by a person who happened to live near-by while the film company was in town. The autographs themselves appear to have been obtained on a 3”x 5” memo pad. The paper is a lighter weight then what you might see in a typical autograph album. The autographs are of Charley Grapewin, Mary Boland, Helen Jerome Eddy, Edward LeSaint. Helen Ware, Stephen Roberts (director), Frances Dee, Adrianne Allen, Gene Raymond, Lila Lee, Charlie Ruggles, Leslie Lightner, Earl S. Hayman, Clive Brook, cinematographer Jack Breamer, technician George Bourne. All these folks except LeSaint, Bourne, Breamer, Lightner and Hayman are “credited” as being Associated with the film by IMDB dot com. (we can’t find out who Lightner was… anyone know??) These items were mounted with those old adhesive picture corners where you would mount the corner s and slip in the item you were putting on the page. Thus, there is no paper loss with any of these items from being removed from the collection as we found it. How’s THAT for provenance??
"H"- This comes from an autograph album maintained by a Marjorie Mitchell. The few pages that are dated have the years ‘34, ‘35 & ‘36. Signers include Walter Pidgeon, Rosalind Russell, Una Merkel & Olivia de Havilland. EVERY page has a vertical fold crease.
“I” This comes from an album maintained by one Dorothy Witman of Long island City, New York. The majority of autographs are pasted-in to the album, sometimes not doing the auto itself any great favor. With some of these autos there is also a pic of the signer pasted in. These pics often helped us confirm the auto was who we read it to be. There are several candid photos throughout the album apparently of Ms. Witman with some of the signers in front of what appear to be restaurants and the like. Ms. Witman looks to have been a teenager in the pics and apparently gathered them in near-by New York City proper. The only dates to appear in the album are 1943, handwritten on the back of some of the candid pics.
“J”- this comes from what was primarily a scrapbook of movie ephemera, with about 35 autographs directly on the scrapbook pages. They were assembled by a “Fred” as indicated by at least 5 inscriptions. This appears to have been part of a collection of scrapbooks alphabetically arranged. Sadly, we only have the one book- “v” thru “y”. The pages are about 12” x 14”. We elected to offer the pages in whole instead of cutting out the autographs for 2 reasons; 1) to provide context with provenance and 2) because many of the pages have pictures which you may want to matte with the autograph. The only exception to this “whole page” approach were two pages which had two autographs each, top and bottom.
"K"- This page comes from one of 4 albums which belonged to a Benjamin Broitman as indicated on the covers. There are a few inscriptions to “Ben” and also a “Kenny”; we can not reconcile the different inscription names without speculating… Some of the pages are dated, not in the signor's hand, 1948 and 1949. It should be noted that each autograph in the albums were “authenticated” by one of Ebay’s recognized autograph authenticators. However, each album was issued a single “Letter of Authenticity” with only “notables” recorded on the LOA. Therefore, we are including the authenticator in the individual album page listings only with the autograph “notables.” Each of these autograph “notables” will ship with a copy of the LOA. ***Please ask questions if we are not explaining this clearly.***
