Charles Davis, shown above enjoying a Havana with Charles, jr, has been a dealer in numismatic literature since 1979, and since 1990 has made it a full time occupation. A member of the A.N.A. (No. 60027) and EAC (No. 142) since 1968, we have, during the past 15 years, conducted one or two mail bid sales per year offering consignments from the American Numismatic Society, The American Numismatic Association, Harvard University Art Museums, and The Free Library of Philadelphia, as well as the intact library of T. E. Leon, coin buyer for Virgil Brand. In addiiton we offered the Henry Chapman library at public auction at the 1997 ANA convention in Cleveland. In 1994 we were asked to write the four catalogues for the million dollar Armand Champa library for Bowers & Merena with Part 1 winning the 1995 Numismatic Literary Guild Best Catalogue Award. In addition we wrote "American Numismatic Literature" (Quarterman Publications 1992), edited the "Asylum" (the journal of the numismatic book collector's society) 1991-1995 receiving the "Best Speciality Publication" from the A.N.A. in 1993, have instructed since 1997 the class in Numismatic Literature and Research at the A.N.A. Summer Seminar, and since 1998 have been listed as a contributor to The Red Book. Since 1993 we have regularily had a bourse table at the A.N.A. Annual Convention traveling as far as San Francisco in 2005 and as nearby as New York in 2002. Our show schedule also includes the major Baltimore and Boston shows in March and November, and the E.A.C. Convention each April.
Terms of Sale
Unless otherwise noted, all items are sent media mail insured. For most single books, this works out to $5.50-$5.75. Priority Mail or other services are also available. . . . . . . . . . . . . VISA/MASTERCARD accepted directly or through PAYPAL. Please note that these fees run 3-5% are paid totally by the seller. PAYPAL USERS NOTE: If you decline insurance, you must so state in the body of your Paypal payment that you accept liability for an undelivered parcel. This charge is necessitated by the outrageous policy of Paypal that uninsured packages are protected by their Money Back Guarantee which means I, who already have paid a fee to receive your funds, make the refund, even though you, the buyer, declined to pay for insurance . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Satisfaction guaranteed or money refunded . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Foreign orders accepted provided that the payment is denominated in U.S. Dollars and that any draft is drawn on a U.S. bank. Items are not insured unless that service is specifically requested and paid for and we can accept no liability for uninsured shipments. As of May 13, 2007, all shipments are sent airmail as surface is no longer offered by the Post Office. Canadian checks in U.S. Dollars drawn against a bank in Canada are not acceptable. They must clear through a U.S. branch of the bank and that fact must be so stated on the check. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . We do not chase bidders for unsettled accounts. Lots not paid for after 21 days will, at our discretion, be returned to stock and eBay notified. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Feedback must always be initiated by the bidder upon completion of the transaction at which time we will be pleased to reciprocate.
