Joshua 5 Yrs Old

I opened my Ebay store shortly after my son was diagnosed with autism.  I began finding a lot of neat things that we were using with my son that I wanted to share with others going through the same thing as us.  My primary goal is to help promote awareness, and secondly to be able to reach out and help others.  Ebay has become almost like a hobby for me.  Most of my items are geared towards autism, however when I get around to it I have other things I've listed for friends, family, etc. 

Joshua was diagnosed with Autism when he was 17 months old and started with the early intervention system right away.  We had therapists here almost everyday working with him.  His therapies included Speech, Occupational, Developmental, and Physical therapy.  I attended a conference that same year and learned about biomedical treatments that had helped a lot of children.  We called immediately to get on a waiting list to see a DAN (Defeat Autism Now) Practitioner in our area.  One of the first things we did was eliminate all dairy from Joshua's diet and noticed a difference right away.  He was stimming less and starting to make eye contact.  We then eliminated gluten and started adding the various supplements.  I was still not sure about chelation therapy so waited a few months before deciding to start that.  We started Joshua with a oral chelator and within 2 weeks he started talking.  I know that this method is very expensive and not supported by a lot of physicians but I figured it was worth a try. 

Joshua is now 5 and attends pre-school through our local school district, and continues to make progress on a daily basis.  Not only can he talk, he sings, dances, and can recite the alphabet and count to 50.  He can identify shapes, colors and just about any picture you show him.  We are not doing any therapies outside the home at this time but will probably start up again once school is out. 

Although we have seen a lot of improvements we still have some issues: sleeping, transitions, meaningful communication, and potty training.  He is beginning to make friends and has excellent relationships with all our family and friends.
