I started listening to music when I was around 5 years old, heavily influenced by what my dad was playing - Motown, Stax etc. My family moved me to Nigeria aged 8 so I heard the sounds of local traditional artists - King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer obey, Sonny Okosu, Fela to name a few. I returned to the UK aged 14 and got into Lovers Rock, Reggae, Hip Hop, Electro & Boogie. It was not till the late 80's that I started to collect records seriously. A friend played me a tape with artists like Grover Washington Jr and the Crusaders. That started my love for Jazz. In the mid 90's I did the track listing for a British documentary on UK Soul and Jazz Funk artists called New Soul Nation. I suppose I am what you can call a born again record collector. After losing my collection in the mid 90's I went into a musical daze for few years. It was only when I discovered the Co-Op (a great club in London) and the Internet, that my love for music was recharged. As you can see I have been into varying types of Black music at different points of my life.

My goal as far as music is concerned is to share the music I love with as many people as possible.
