Hello and Welcome to my eBay Auctions and my About Me Page! My name is Karen and my ID here is Ocean*Gypsy. I also have a second eBay ID that I use on the Community Forums, Ocean-Gypsy (with a hyphen). That ID is used for fun things and has a lot of helpful tips and links about safe trading on eBay on it's About Me page. Two IDs, but they are both all ME!I am both a buyer and seller on eBay and I pride myself on the glowing feedback record that I've accumulated. When I am acting as a Buyer, you will find that I pay promptly according to your terms, keep up my end of communications and I will always give a seller the opportunity to address a problem before I leave feedback (because sometimes stuff just happens and we are all only human). When I am acting as a Seller, you can expect that my items will be described to the best of my ability (including any flaws), shipping will be in a timely manner, my shipping/handling costs will be reasonable and items will be packed securely. I communicate with my buyers and I leave feedback when I know the item has been received, there are no further issues to address and the transaction is complete. My goal is to have Happy Customers and a smooth transaction for us both.
I leave feedback for every transaction, whether I am acting as a Buyer or as a Seller.

I am very honored to have been selected as a member of eBay's Voice of the Community program (otherwise known as "Voices"). Through that program, I had the opportunity in February of 2004 to go to eBay's HQ in San Jose California. I learned a lot about what happens behind the scenes at eBay and how things actually work. Through my ongoing participation in this program I hope that my Voice helps eBay and the Community become a continually better place to trade. The photo on the right was taken during my trip to San Jose and is of Me and Gianni@ebay.com, one of the eBay Community Pinks.

 My latest passion is Genealogy - searching my Family Tree. Believe me, once you get bitten by the bug, you can't stop - there are always more stories to uncover.Among my direct ancestors I have found
Mary and Anne both now have statues erected in tribute to them in front of the State House in Boston. I've found at least two Revolutionary War soldiers (one was a Colonel in Mass. and one was a miltiaman in Rhode Island and there is a good possibility that there are more to be discovered) and a Civil War cavalry 1st sargeant whose unit was the only one to have served at the headquarters of every commanding general of the Union Army of the Potomac. The men of the Oneida cavalry served at the headquarters of Generals George B. McClellan, Ambrose E. Burnside, Joseph Hooker and George Gordon Meade. A detachment of 22 men from the Oneida Cavalry, under the command of their 2nd Lieutenant, was assigned to duty at General Ulysses S. Grant headquarters at City Point, Virginia, from 1864 until the surrender of the Confederate Army at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, on April 9, 1865. My gr-gr-grandfather enlisted as a 20 year old at the formation of the unit in 1861 and stayed with them until being mustered out when the company disbanded in 1865. Distant cousins include Sir Winston Churchill, Roger Sherman (a signer of the Declaration of Independence) and General William Tecumseh Sherman of Civil War fame. Yes, I've discovered these stories and so many more! So far I'm back to the early 1500s in England on my maternal side of the family tree and to 1749 on my paternal side of my family tree (in 1749, that German immigrant ancestor arrived in the Port of Philadephia).
