Even as a small child, I loved to travel. I spent nights dreaming about our next family get away. In fact, my earliest childhood memories are the driving vacations my family took across the county to visit my Uncle Don in California. These trips brought me my first taste of Disney, Disneyland. I was hooked! The nights we didn't visit Disneyland, I would stand on lawn chairs and watch the evening fireworks from my Uncle's backyard. .

Our family vacations soon brought us to Disney World in Florida. With my love of travel and then Disney, I knew it was a perfect match! We returned to Disney several times in my childhood and it was always magical. When my parents learned of my desire to work for Disney, they both worried that it would ruin the "Disney Magic" for me. They couldn't have been more wrong. I loved every minute that I worked in the parks and cherish the friendships I made there.

So, you may wonder what made me leave Disney? I didn't think that I could love anyone more than Mickey Mouse. Well, that is until I met my future husband, Mike. After a year long courtship, we were married and I became a military wife. My husband is serving in the United States Air Force and we have now lived in five locations inside the United States. Thankfully, much of our time has been on the east coast and has kept me close to Disney.

I have always been one who loved to save money. After we started a family, I realized more than ever the need to work on a budget. Especially since I still planned to visit Disney at least a couple of times a year. I had learned many tips as a cast member and now was the time to put them into practice. Our family vacations were flawless! As I shared our experiences with family and friends, it became clear that others could really benefit from the savings tips I had been using. That is how the "Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide" was born.

When I am not planning our next Disney adventure, I keep busy with volunteering at my children's schools, working in our church nursery, and working on home improvement projects. Our family purchased an older home that had never been updated. Since then, I have learned to lay tile, install kitchen cabinets, and even put up drywall. For anyone else that has taken on a remodel project yourself, my hat goes off to you.
