Oldmarlees
Owner / Operators - Greg & Rhonda Andrews
First and foremost, we would like to assure all present and future customers that we are here to stay. We realize that we have a lot to learn, and with patience, persistence, and the knowledge gained from actual hands on experience in this new business we will continue to serve you for many years to come. You see, we actually owned our own brick & mortar business for almost 14 years. (Ma & Pa's Kettle Restaurant, Indiana) We had a strong desire to be successful ( and were ) but eventually the business was taking control of our lives. We could find little time to get away, and with the events of Sept.11, 2001, we decided that we were going to need to make a change. The decision to start the restaurant was one of the most important decisions of our lives. We learned many valuable lessons, some hard to swallow, some very exciting, but all very important. We believe that everything has a purpose and we can now look back on these experiences with pride, knowing that they were preparing us for another chapter of our lives. In late 2004, we sold our business, building and all good will we had developed. After about a year of managing an upscale lounge/restaurant, we decided now is the time to do what is not only going to supply us with an income, but also fulfill our personal desires in self employment.
The difference with this business decision and the prior, is that this time it is based on the passion that we both share for the arts, collecting in general, antiques, and of course Rhonda's natural abilities. Even as we were busy running the restaurant, she found time here and there to work on her artistic talents. We had a perfect customer base, so we would put her works out for decoration and occasionally to sell. We couldn't keep enough around! We would tell buyers that they could have the product after the holiday, in some cases, because Rhonda made most of our decor herself, and could not always find enough time to make a replacement. some customers would try to talk us into not making them wait, but everyone would pay ahead and make us promise that as soon as we were done with the piece, to call them so they could pick up the artwork. It was amazing! Every piece that she would display would get great revues. So,if you have the opportunity to check out her catagory in our store, http://stores.ebay.com/oldmarlees, do so. You will find some very interesting works of art. All of her art is original and done by hand, so first come, first serve.
We will always be on the look out for new and interesting collect- ibles, antiques and other forms of art and decorations. We are always going to give you as many holiday selections as we are able to come up with. We will always do our best to keep the shop stocked with as many items as possible, with new selections weekly, if not daily. We understand that the most important relationships we have concerning our online busineses, are the ones that we have with each customer, now and in the future. And, as I said in the beginning, we are here to stay, so the future looks pretty bright for Oldmarlees.
