My Top 10 Tips for safe buying on eBay
- Read the description in full (act like there is no photo)
- Know your measurements (take out a ruler to see what 8" really looks like)
- Read shipping and money back policies carefully (make sure you agree with them before you bid or buy)
- Shipped with in 7 business days (this does not include weekends or holidays and can take up to 12 days to ship, I found this out the hard way when I purchased something)
- Read feedback before you bid or buy (see what other members have to say about their transactions with that seller)
- 98% or better feedback rating is best (most of the time, this lets you know that the seller is reputable)
- eBay holds Power Sellers to a higher standard (check out Power Sellers just like you would any one else, there are always exceptions to the rule)
- Once you receive the item, check to make sure it is the same as the photo and description (be careful, I even got tricked by this one, from a Power Seller at that. Needless to say I will never deal with them again, PERIOD!!!)
- Sellers that use Paypal are also looking out for your best interest (Paypal offers you, the buyer, several layers of added protection)
- Also using your credit card to pay, offers you additional protection from your lending institution (check cards offer some protection but credit cards offer a lot more)
