Ondineglass

Jeanine Owen's artistic career began at Disney theme parks in Orlando, Tokyo, and Paris. Working as an artist demonstrator, she became sought after for her portraits and Silhouettes. During her travels she worked in artistic locations such as Montmarte and Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Working with glass blowers from Spain while at Disney, she developed an interest in glass. She studied basic glass chemistry in New Jersey and received a scientific glass technology degree from Salem Technical College in New Jersey. From faces to test tubes to marbles, bottles, beads, an interest in art and glass remains constant. Combining her experience in portraiture and an appreciation for nature, her cat and dog beads took shape.


From source to inspiration then expression, new work is created. Imparting the work with an essence of character requires continuing effort and developing of new processes and techniques. Each bead is original, sculpted of hot fluid glass that slowly emerges into a cat or dog - or whatever inspires - with it's own personality. "These beads reflect my life and my own backyard is a source of many ideas. If my creations along the way of this continuous artistic journey please or touch the heart of someone I am happy.
