ABOUT ME....


Who am I?
I am a Mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a grandchild, a niece, a cousin, a Godmother, a friend and with much excitement a very proud Aunt of one 18 month old and two brand new infant twins as of April! My family is the glue that holds me together. My little laney bug - my heart and soul, whom I love more than life itself!

A few years ago, we struggled with the idea for me to stay home to raise children. And although it has it's ups and down, we have managed to make it through one day at a time by the grace of God. I sell on EBay to help make ends meet using the talents that my parents taught me all my life. My mother is a talented seamstress and artist. My father, was a creative designer and builder, together they were an amazing team. They are my heroes! I thank God for every memory of my father and for the memories my mother continues to create each day!

Painting:
I started painting holiday themes on large picture windows for the company I work for when I was 23. One window lead to another, then another. Suddenly I was painting the windows for EVERY holiday on huge glass front stores! Yes, Columbus Day is a holiday and needs a theme! LOL. Fortunately, I was blessed with owners who believed in my work and gave me creative license. Every holiday was a new experience and I truly looked forward to standing on that latter painting away!

7 Years later, when I moved out of state and no longer had windows to paint, I found a new medium and started painting murals on walls! It started with a guest room and then the baby's room and continues from there without showing signs of stopping. It has become my will that I will not put the brush down until the day I can no longer hold it in my hand. I truly love it!

I find inspiration in the children around me for most of the items I create. I love to paint and embellish clothing for them. I also sew all kinds of Christmas stockings, Christmas ornaments and anything I can think of that I would love to decorate with myself. I love the romantic cottage look as roses, peonies, hydrangeas and lilacs are my very favorites. Of course, Pink is my favorite color!

My paintings:
My drawing and painting technique is one of a kind freehand. When I freehand, I feel fulfilled and at peace with the finished product. I will on occasion make a template when I am trying to achieve a uniform look, but that too when created is also freehand drawing. Any item that I paint, whether it be ornaments, clothing ect. you can expect it to be truly one of a kind.

Oh, how I love to Sew:
I have been drawing and painting ever since I could remember and have been sewing since I first received a big bag of hand-me-down bellbottoms from a cousin in the 80's! My mother showed me how to reconfigure those jeans into the tapered legs that were fashionable at the time. And I had enough jeans to look like my mother spent a fortune on new school clothes. After many years of stealing moments on her machine, I finally received my own at 18 and in turn put a wonderful 20 years on it. And although it now sits quietly while the newer machines receive my attention, I still consider it an prized possession and refuse to part with it-no matter how many times I move!

I love all kinds of fabric, especially vintage and new "vintage inspired" designs, so when I first began searching the market, it quickly became an obsession, along with all kinds of trims and embellishments. I am always on the hunt, and now I live in a "Textile Wonderland", I am truly amazed at what I can find here in this state! It's incredible, so much fabric, so little time! I love vintage lace, vintage buttons and rhinestones and continue to add to my collection every month! I love to create, whether it be here or on EBay it is always a wonderful feeling knowing someone is enjoying my work!.

My templates:
For years I created auction templates for myself and anyone else who asked for one. I loved creating new designs and was thrilled with the delight of others who viewed them and used them. After so many years of creating them and giving them away that with some pushing from my EBay friends, I started selling them. It is always a blessing to me to hear the feedback I receive from customers about the templates I create. Now you can find all of the templates I offer on my classified ad.
