About Us
Other Music opened in downtown Manhattan in December of 1995 as an independently owned and operated establishment dedicated to carrying a comprehensive selection of underground, experimental, and electronic music. The store has been profiled numerous times in publications such as Rolling Stone, Spin, The New York Times, Harpers, the Wire, Billboard, Goldmine, Beikoku Ongaku, Brutus, Magnet and many others. In 2006, Other Music is still recognized as one of the top stores in the world for its unique selection of hard-to-find titles, both new and used, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Mail Order
Other Music has also operated a mail order business serving customers across North America and in over 30 foreign countries since August of 1996. In October of 1998 we launched our website www.othermusic.com as the online equivalent of our retail store. Since that time, we've experienced a sharp increase in our mail order business.
