Other Peoples Flowers
"I have gathered here an offering of other people's flowers, bringing to them of my own only a thread to bind them with." --Montaigne
I love the notion of the everyday items of life being our "flowers". A vacation photo album, favorite recipe books and magazines, birth certificates, greeting cards lovingly saved, even the receipts from ordinary purchases, these items we take for granted in our own lives can fit together as petals of a bouquet from a life that has already passed. Giving a glimpse into another era and a nostalgic yearning for simpler times.

About Me ~ About My Art
When I was growing up I dreamed of attending the Art Institute of Chicago after High School.
Marriage, 3 kids, more cats then I can count, "real" job, divorce, single parenting, remarriage, full time Mom to my 3 kids and my husband's 4 (yes that's 7!!),
and suddenly I'm in my 40s!
IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN!
--George Eliot
I've been enjoying this wild ride of my "middle ages" more then I can begin to say and this adventure of becoming an artist has been the wildest of all!
I have a love for all things antiquated, the more broken and forgotten, the better! I love to take something old and give it new life. To see the potential in even the most mundane object.
"and I have filled her (him) with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability, & knowledge in all kinds of crafts." Exodus 31:3
This verse inspired me! I realized that my desire to create was God given and it can be God honoring and deeply satisfying to the soul.
So here I am! I didn't make it to the Art Institute but I have attended the University of life, with a class thrown in here and there along the way, I submit to you my humble offerings.
Thanks for looking!
