| Throughout the later 70's and all through the 80's and into the 90's I played in a band called "The Jon Morgan Band." We played country, rock, originals, high energy songs of all types. I played bass for the band although I can play drums, too. I was also the lead singer and front man and main song writer for the group. We played all over the Midwest from Casper, Wyoming to Key West , Florida. (The band was based in Palmyra, Illinois). We recorded an album in '82 called "Hometown Heros and Honky Tonk Stars." It did well locally. We had t-shirts, albums, ball caps, 8x10's, posters, bumper stickers, and other merchandise. I am presently trying to get my hands on some of the merchandise. My Family
My wife Melinda and I have two daughters, Sara and Liz. Both are grown and married with children. Sara and her husband have 3 daughters and Liz and her husband Eric have 1 son and 1 daughter. My wife and I live in a modest house on Lake Decatur and enjoy boating a lot. (SHE more than I!) I enjoy travel, the great outdoors, nature in general, photography, writing and eating out. We are a closley-knit family and rely on one another quite a lot. ( I don't hunt nor does anyone in the immediate family.). I was a musician professionally for 30 years. Then, I became a banker. I don't know how it happened. Then I somehow got cancer in my bones, took chemotheraphy and here I am. Retired, strong and cancer free! (Never let the little bastards get you down!) I like to e-bay, both buy and sell, I am always looking for a '60's model Hofner Bass, An older Gibson SG red with a sunburst design, a Fender Mustang Bass and a good accoustic I could play around the house. |
