Shipping: - On eBay's Calculate Shipping Page, I added to actual item weight, to account for packing material and a sturdy carton.
Whenever practical, I am always glad to combine shipping, when you win more than one (1) item in a 7-day period, thereby saving you money.
eBay's Shipping Calculator [at bottom of this listing] only allows me to estimate the actual shipping/postage cost plus my modest shipping/handling cost(s) to pack and ship an item.
Every item shipped has an Invoice/Packing Slip enclosed. USPS (U. S. Postal Service) U. S. Domestic includes a DC (Delivery Confirmation) receipt, registered, certified, return receipt card, and/or other such form(s) to help ensure a safe and timely journey.
USPS International carries a customs form as well.
I pack items after they sell. If I have greatly overestimated the actual shipping and handling costs, I refund the *difference. When I underestimate it, I pay the difference out-of-my-pocket.
SHIPPING INSURANCE:
Starting the week of September 22, 2009, optional or required buyer-selected shipping insurance will no longer be allowed on eBay.
What sellers can do:
-
Sellers will still be able to insure your items.
-
Sellers can fold the cost of insurance into the item price or handling fee.
-
Sellers can indicate, ‘The item is insured” or “Handling fee includes insurance.”
What sellers cannot do:
-
Sellers cannot charge the buyer a separate fee for insurance, either in a listing or after the buyer has committed to purchase the item
-
Sellers cannot indicate insurance is only offered upon buyer’s request
-
Insurance: Sellers aren't allowed to charge a separate fee for insurance, although they still need to make sure their item arrives as described.
Tip: You should incorporate any insurance fees into an item's price or handling cost.
-
Tariffs, duties, and customs fees: For cross-border transactions, sellers aren't allowed to collect tariffs, duties, or customs fees. (Buyers may be responsible for paying these fees as required by country laws.)
Tip: Remember not to inappropriately classify an item as a gift as a way to avoid certain duties, tariffs, or customs fees. U.S. law prohibits submitting false or misleading Customs information.
Every item shipped via U. S. Postal Service includes a DC (Delivery Confirmation) receipt, registered, certified, return receipt card, customs form, and/or other such form(s) to help ensure a safe and timely journey.
However, since I pack items after they sell, if I have greatly overestimated the actual shipping and handling costs, I refund the difference. When I underestimate it, I pay the difference out-of-my-pocket.
SHIPPING INSURANCE: Items shipped via Fed Ex or UPS with up to a $100. value* are insured at no additional cost [to buyer]. Items valued at over $100. and/or shipped via the USPS (U.S. Postal Service) will be charged a handling fee to cover the insurance and other expenses as recommended and/or allowed by eBay.
*Value = price as stated on invoice.
USPS First Class Mail International can NOT be insured so, IF you prefer Insurance, you must choose USPS PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL.
International Buyers – Please Note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. I do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
