Taking a break with my studio assistants

Love me....love my dogs! I was single when I adopted my first dog from the Humane Society of Miami about six years ago. A year later, I got another one. Then, the following year......another one! My family said I’d never find a man who would put up with three ‘wild -n-crazy’ dogs.....but, alas, God is bigger than my family’s fears and now I’m married to an amazing man, Russ, who has a better relationship with them than I do (but that’s because he can throw a frisbee and I can’t!!!! Not fair!) We have a pretty fun household. Along with the three dogs, Russ brought his cat to the family and we just adopted two birds! We are recent converts to the Dog Whisperer philosophy. Now we have “rules, boundaries and limitations (pronounced lee-mee-ta-shuns the way Cesar says it!!!)........then affection!!” (If you watch the show, you’ll understand! ) Every day around 9am, Ellie, the Frisbee dog, goes into my studio and jumps up on the couch to let me know “it’s time to go to work!” Then around 5:30 they all start getting restless and, as is tradition in our family, they know it’s TIME TO BE RIDICULOUS! When we say that, they know we’re going to get a beer, grab the frisbee and go swimming!!! Russ throws the frisbee for Ellie, while Jake and Roscoe leap for tennis balls in the pool. It’s a real scene!

So, that’s a day in my life. A little background....

I was born and raised in Coral Gables, FL (part of Miami.) Went to college at SMU in Dallas. Graduated in ‘88 with a Fine Art degree. Bounced around with lots of weird jobs, and then settled on teaching art at a local, public middle school. Lived in Boone, NC for three years teaching art, then came scampering back to my roots and moved home in ‘99. Started doing artshows in 2002....where I met Russ, who is also an artist. Got married in 2004 and now live in Indialantic, FL (part of Melbourne.)

And that leads me to Ebay. Travelling around the country doing artshows is a little bit like being in a circus. You go from place to place, set up your stuff, prayerfully make some money, and then move on to the next place.It’s an adventure,but it’s also very hard to be away from home. So, with some encouragement from Russ and a friend, I started painting for Ebay. And decided to only paint dogs! Dogs of every size and shape and breed and color! It’s a wonderful experience to paint in the comfort of my home, with the dogs all around me, and then list some things for the world to see!!! I put new stuff up almost every day.
