Ethnic and tribal jewelry
Old coral and Tuareg bracelet.
Fulani ring and Moor bracelet.

This store is dedicated to the ethnic jewelry and adornment that I have collected on my travels to Mali, Niger, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, and Yemen.  Although these are predominately buying trips for my business, the contacts I have made are now some of my best friends and having these people as my friends make my trips that much more enjoyable.  By and large the people involved in tribal jewelry are an agreeable lot, from my Tuareg contacts in Niger, to a designer in LA using antique coral beads for earrings.  I’m very lucky, I get to travel the world meeting all types of different and interesting people and make a little money too!  I hand select everything from the individual vintage silver Yemen beads to rings and trade beads.

Over the last 20 years I’ve handled a lot of tribal jewellery and feel I have developed a good eye in choosing quality pieces.  Due to the demand and limited supply, vintage ethnic jewellery and vintage silver beads are becoming harder to find, I rely heavily on my contacts to find and save quality pieces for me.  Items available are from, but not limited to the nomadic Tuareg of the Sahara,[famous for their silver], the Fulani traders of Mali, the Ashanti of Ghana, the Lobi people of Burkina Faso[well known for bronze work], Moor people of Mauritania, the Jima people from the Ethiopian highlands, and the early Jewish silversmiths of Yemen.

I hope you enjoy as much as I do the rings, earrings, bracelets, and adornments that I’ve collected over the years.  Steve
