I have loved and experimented with art since I was a little girl. I remember the first time I saw a box of 64 crayons, I couldn't believe all of the beautiful color I was seeing in one place. I ran and got a sheet of paper and careful took out each crayon drawing one line of each color on the paper. I put the paper under my pillow and would take it out and stare at all the colors. I felt the same way all over again when discovered lampworking and I recieved my first shipment of glass rods, and I still get the same feeling every time I open the kiln and see my creations of colorful treasures inside.  I was drawn to beadmaking by the color and the beauty of the glass. I read Cindy Jenkins book cover to cover and then ordered a kit and taught myself to make beads. I am completely self taught, having never taken a class, although in the past I have learned through the many wonderful beadmakers who are so giving of thier techniques in books and online. Since I don't want to limit myself or get caught in any certain "style", I set no boundaries for my art. As a result I may make beads that are serious, silly, whimsical, rustic, nature inspired, abstract, or down right ordinary. I find great inspiration in the world around me and I try to put as much of that into my glass work as possible.   I've been making glass beads for the last six years in my studio located in the Lowcountry on the coast in Beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina. I often use the beautiful landscape around me as inspiration for my work.   I fell in love with a man who gave up his two car garage and months of boating and golf to build me my dream studio, he's my wonderful husband Bobby. Bobby and I live with our four children, two golden retrievers, a silky terrier, and cat.   I frequently use my beads to make my own jewelry which I sell in galleries on the East Coast and when time allows I enjoy selling them on Ebay.  Melting glass and creating beads is my passion. Often I am in my studio for over 12 hours at a time happily melting glass until my family comes in and pulls me out!
