We are one of the ONLY sellers
to perform a FULL engine check on ALL motors and back them with a 6 MONTH
WARRANTY!! On all our engines, we:
- Do a compression test on each cylinder. A
engine from a roll over vehicle will run "perfect." However, if someone
tried to start it before the engines top half was properly drained, there
is a likelihood of damage. If the oil was not drained, the extra oil in
the upper half will cause friction and the push rod most likely will crack
in the engine. The motor will still run great, but it will have a dead
cylinder. A compression test will show if any of the cylinders have
damage.
- We then do a vacuum
test that ensures the engines internals are functional and the engine has a
good "vacuum" draw to it. If the engine has a low output of vacuum
pressure (in pounds) then we know the engine has internal damage and needs
attention or rebuilt.
- We then do an Oil
pressure test which is done when the motor is warm and cold. When an
engine takes a front end shot; it can push the cradle into the oil pan.
The oil pressure test ensures there's no damage to the oil pump or lower
internals of the block.
- A CO Check is then
done to make sure there is no damage to the heads or block. If a vehicle
takes one on the front of the block it can damage the crank. If the
harmonic balancer is even just slightly hit, it can wipe out the whole
lower end. The C.O. check will tell us if there is damage there.
- We will then inspect
the transmission. We drop the trans pan to inspect the trans fluid. This
is done to make sure there is no metal or burnt fluid in the case. If
there is any metal or brass collecting we will send it for a rebuild. For
manual transmissions, we run the car through all gears and check to make
sure engagement is smooth like it should be.
