Faith, Family, Freedom and Friends -
May Your Heart Always Be Pieceful!
Our lives are full of many pieces; God, home, work, family, friends, pets, groups, clubs, etc. and like the colors and fabrics in this quilt they can converge into a beautiful life. So enjoy your pieces, enjoy your life!
We love to garden. Or I should say my husband and sons love to garden - especially "salsa". As soon as there is even a hint of spring in the air then those guys get started. Of course, since the hot peppers are their most important plants they get the best care. But then again they do indeed make some awesome salsa. Yum!
Me, I just like to sit out on the deck and enjoy the seasons. Ok, maybe I don't really 'enjoy' the hot humid summers in central Arkansas but the days sure look nice when viewed from the comfort of an air-conditioned house.
We travel a bit and that is on the rise so that we can spend more time with our grandson, Jeremiah. His momma is the daughter of our heart and has been a true gift to me in the past few years. She calls us Momz and Dadz but no telling what the little guy will say - it will be a treasured surprise I'm sure.
Our oldest son is getting married in June so we'll all be off to Alaska for a couple of weeks. What a great way to have a wedding - aboard a cruise ship! And what a beautiful place to go!
The one sad note in our lives is the recent loss of my mother-in-law, Nelle Bartolomei. She was graduated from North Little Rock High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers' College (now UCA) before moving her little family to Contra Costa County, CA in 1953. She was fond of telling stories of her work for the Pittsburg CA Police Department. She was a good cook and collected recipes (and made an awesome spaghetti sauce.) She enjoyed reading, doing handicrafts, and making homemade Christmas ornaments which many of her friends and family treasure. She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star until her health prevented her from serving. She was also a 30 year breast cancer survivor. She will be missed terribly by her friends and family for her caring ways.
