I was born in Tehran, Iran. I moved to the states right before the Revolution. Since that time I have not returned to my native country. I have made America home. Many of my pieces capture some of the loss associated with the violence and heartache of this unique position. But, more often than not, I happen to find the light in shady corners. Those magical moments of childhood, play, and creative joy, that have made my life so wonderful to live. In a world together, light and shadow, I present the colors, images, and visual sounds of my life as true as I can see them. This is the integrity behind the pieces listed below. I hope you enjoy them in your homes and businesses.Best, Pirooz M. Kalayeh |
