I never forget those words I heard on Sym's TV commercials. (Sym's is a specialized clothing store) That was 15 to 35 years ago maybe.

Its a tech World out there and its far ahead of what 95% of the population knows or wants to know about.

Im an antenna nut. It alll started (the antenna part of it) back in 1975 when I was 15 and the CB radio craze was strong.. I spent a short time on the CB channels eventually using an FT-101EX then an E Yaesu into a Wilson 5/8 wave GP antenna on a pole. About a year later I explored ham radio and got very interested and abandoned the CB channels. Licensed for ham in 1977, added large 10,15 and 20 meter Wilson monobanders and a Heathkit amp......

Not mentioning call signs to increase my privacy a tiny bit in this cruel World.

Played with lots of CW (Morse code) and RTTY (radio teletype) using a model 15 then a 19 retired CAP (Civil Air Patrol) machines and a homebrew demodulator I was having a blast.

Around this time of 1977 I started doing tower and ham radio install work for the area hams and commercial work too. Including repeaters and towers, marine radios and RADARs, cars and trucks etc. I worked hard and produced excellent profits.

By 1981 during a back packing trip to Europe I knew the income was limited by the number of hours in a day and I had only 1 of "me". I decided I didnt want to expand on the labor related business and depend on employees for it. It was time to sell antennas, which was a limitless possibility. During that Euro trip I actually collected European Am/FM antenna samples every where I could. Plus info on other auto parts. (Im also a European car buff)
