Bar Review Materials Thank you for visiting my "about me" page. For those of you who have been doing business with me, you know that my user name on eBay has always been jane@truax.com. Because of all of the fraud involved with using email addresses as user ids, eBay has strongly encouraged changing those ids to ones that are not so easily identifiable. So, I have finally succumbed and have changed my id. I appreciate the opportunity that I have had to buy and sell items, especially law school and bar review materials on eBay. It became something of a hobby years ago when I was still in law school and trying to supplement my income. I was a non-traditional student (a single mom with 4 kids at home). I didn't even start college until I was 30. I remember those hard days - working while the kids were in school, then scheduling all of my classes so that I only had to be there one night a week so I could still be home most of the time for the kids. Then came the day that I broke the news that I wanted to go to Law School. Those who didn't think I was crazy, thought I'd never make it. Well, I did. It was a life-long dream of mine, and it was finally coming true. The LSAT was grueling for me. It was probably the hardest test I had ever taken at the time, but I knew that the results of this test would determine whether or not I got accepted in Law School. Fortunately, I did well and I was soon in Law School at night. It took almost 4 years, but it was well worth it. I can honestly tell you that I could not have accomplished it without the support of my kids and their constant encouragement. I used the Barbri program the first time that I sat for the Bar. I went to every lecture and took lots of notes. I knew the material well. And I did well. On the essay portion of the test, that is. I never did well on multiple choice tests and the MBE kicked my a**. One of the attorneys that I worked with gave me some very good advice. (Thank you very much Andrew Korduba!!) He told me to get the PMBR Workbooks. He said he was an average student, but used these books and did quite well on the Bar. Well, what else did I have to lose? So I got them, and he was so right. I truly believe that Barbri is an excellent program, but if you are like me and need that extra oomph on the MBE, PMBR is exactly what you need. Having had the unfortunate opportunity of having to sit for the Bar Exam more than once, it is my hope that I can share some important insight on what you can and can't expect at the Bar. For those of you who purchase any of my Bar Review Materials, I welcome you to email me anytime, especially that panicky crunch time right before the exam. Feel free to ask me anything, I will try to be as candid as possible. P.S. I am now in Private Practice and having a blast. I still play with eBay as a hobby and put the money I earn into my kids' college funds. (They also thank you for your purchase!!) |
