Poetic Photographer

There are three me's in this store. The first is the photographer me, Poetic Photography

I got my first Brownie 620 when I was ten, then in high school graduated to a used Kodak 35mm, then onto a Canon AE 1 SLR. Five years ago I stepped into digital and haven't looked back. It felt as though photography opened up for me in a way that allowed complete control over every aspect of photography. I can crop and touch up, print as well or better than commercial labs, and tune the print so it is exactly as I want it.  

I worked several years with a photographer who created portfolios for women wishing to become models. I learned how to photograph people in both studio and outdoor settings. More, I came to understand what flatters people, how to slim hips and emphasize what people feel good about themselves. Flattering portraits are an art and science, they don't just happen. 

Impressionism in Frost

Four years ago I discovered that the windows in my abode are ideal for the formation of Fantastic Frost. The windows face east toward the ember sunrise colors, filling them for a few brief moments with wild and magical hues. Many of my favorite photographs of frost are available in my store. I also photographed the lunar eclipse the night and at the very moment the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004. Mosaics of the eclipse celebrating that Red Sox World Series win and the one in 2007 are available in prints and coffee mugs.

The second me is Seasoned Lumber. I bought a bandsaw mill so I could harvest and mill the trees on my land. Some very unique and beautiful lumber I offer in my store here on Ebay. Some I craft into wood creations such as furniture and lamps that combine my photographic art with my woodworking art. This is the third me, Vermont Hardwood Creations.

I live in a secluded spot in the very north of Vermont, only four miles from the Canadian border. Montreal is only a little further from me than Burlington. Each item I sell in my store is a unique piece of Vermont, some as visuals, as in my frost prints, some are heavy and solid, as in my custom hardwood and hardwood creations.
