You have entered a store with only hand-selected books that are worth your time to read. I have no massive warehouse, no conveyor belts, no vast colorless rows of anonymous toil masquerading as service. I care about what I sell, because I care about what I read. When you buy from PoetryinPower, you'll start a relationship with a seller who wants to nuture your reading experience. The only difference between me and your favorite corner bookstore is the cat. And the cat's upolstered chair.
A couple of business matters....
GRADING: I tried the formal grading system...I flunked. Look for a more subjective system from my sales...not less accurate..but a little more idiosyncratic. Certainly if you have special needs - like a gift or a textbook - then you have every right to email me for a confirmation or clarification of my item description. I answer emails promptly...unless I'm napping, in which case you'll have to wait.
MEDIA MAIL ... Let's all cheer the US Postal Service! They have never lost a book in over 600 sales! That is not to say they are particularly hasty about delivery. For most people, that's OK. For some, INCLUDING STUDENTS, you really must tell me if you need a delivery service upgrade. FIRST CLASS MAIL is very reasonable for paperbacks...somewhat more alarming for larger books....but it may be what you need to assure that you have your book when your professor says you need it.
APO & Overseas addresses - I gladly ship internationally...just remember that sometimes your address is difficult to process, and sometimes shipping requires a day or so to calculate. APO buyers please wait for an invoice. Sometimes I ship free to overseas troops - but if you are too quick on the draw with the paypal, I can't give you the deal. (Now aren't you glad you are reading this page?)
ALLERGENS, SMOKE, AND DANDER: For some sensitive individuals, any small amount of allergic material will start a reaction. Your books are not exposed to pets or smoke, but San Francisco really has the mold. A slight musty smell is always possible, especially in some older books. I have a good nose, and will let you know if I catch a whiff before I list a book. Also, I might be eating peanut butter sandwiches when I list your book, so there may be trace amounts.
