All about our family
ugly is just ugly - uglee is primitive!
We are....
I'm Julie Miller and I'm 37 and the momma of 5 wonderful kid and a grandma to a sweet lil' 2 month old grandson. I'm also the momma to 4 Corgis I can't forget them... . I've been creating primitives for 15 years. I guess I've been making stuff as long as I can remember... sewing, crocheting, cooking... my hands and my mind have to be doing something... I can't just sit still. For a lot of years I was 'My Raggedy Kids' and plan to bring back some of my patterns from that line as well as start creating some new ones real soon!
Chelsea Bunnell is my daughter & momma to my sweet lil' grandson Jadyn. Chelsea is 17 and a great momma to Jadyn. They both live here at home with us and Chelsea is creating full time to support Jadyn. (you can probably guess how the story of Jadyn's father goes....) She's young but a very hard worker and loves to stitch and make lil' uglee prims. She has her own space inside our studio and is able to work at home with Jadyn at her side.
Brittini Bunnell is my oldest daughter who is almost 20! She has her own prim name 'Scissortail Folk Art' but is also part of the Polka Dot Pig. She is in cosmotelogy school and will be graduating soon. She also works full time at Pizza Hut along with her boyfriend and one day husband, Bryce. They have a home together along with 2 Corgis and 2 Cats. She has her own studio at her home. She doesn't get to create as much as she'd like... but one of these days.....
J.D Miller is my oldest son. He's now 15 and growing so fast! I home school him and his brother. J.D. is into metal art. Primitive metal art. I've been helping him out with the drawing but he does all the cutting and welding himself... with help from Tyler. They also create what they call 'Kitchen Klangers' windchimes made from lids and silverware and will be listing some of those here on ebay. J.D. is also a small engine mechanic... lawnmowers and go karts and from time to time he'll be listing some of that stuff.
Tyler Miller is my youngest... my lil' sweetie pie. He's 11 now and helps out everyone. He makes some of the Kitchen Klangers himself and he'll make other stuff. He's a very creative lil' boy!
Sammy Bunnell is my 18 year old daughter. She is soon to join us in our primitive world... but she is 18 and has a lot of the 18 year old drama.... :)
We thought a lot about our new name... the kids didn't want to be My Raggedy Kids anymore... they are growin' up now and just didn't wanna be raggedy any more... so my oldest daughter liked Scissortail... well I went with that for a lil' while and it just didn't fit me.... well I have a thing for flying pigs... the whole idea of 'when pigs fly'... and I love polka dots... so Chel and I came up with the Polka Dot Pig! My Corgis look like lil' pigs too! lol!!!
Well that's 'about us' We may not have much... but we've got each other.... the last few years have been hard.... and we may have some rough ones ahead of us and we make some more changes... but I am going to be true to myself and keep stitchin' and sewin' and paintin' and gatherin' up that good junque that we love. My kids are happy and so am I (and I'll be even happier soon!)
We'll some of ya'll might remember me...
My Raggedy Kids... maybe not... I've been gone for about 4 years... stuck in a hot greazzzy kitchen running a restaurant. YUCK! I really didn't want to leave the primitive world... but I had to. My hubby wanted to open a cafe for a few years... easy for him to say... he'd never even worked in one! We'll I caved in with the promise I could have a shop in the same building and still create. Well that didn't last long! We did hire some 'help' that really wasn't much help. Soon we had to fire all the kitchen help and I was in there along with Chelsea my now 17 year old daughter. We cooked from before sun up to well after sun down. My two boys tried helping me too. While hubby.... well lets just say he wasn't much help at all (another very long story!) I spent many nights baking pies and cakes all night and did I mention we made everything from scratch. NO boxed, frozen crap food was served in my restaurant. Well anyways.... one day I'd had enough and quit... now I'm back to doing what I really love... creating primitive uglee treasures!
