![]() A welcome break from computing: Searching for meteorites in the California deserts... WELCOME I'm an anthropologist/archaeologist currently teaching "Computational Cartography" and "Artificial Life / Evolutionary Design" at UCLA. I am part of the Center for Computational Social Science involved in a project which I call "Artificial Culture - Experiments in Synthetic Anthropology." This involves multiagent spatial modeling in Borland's C++ Builder (for Windows). It's a new and exciting field which combines the techniques of evolutionary computing, multiagent systems, artificial life and artificial societies into Computational Anthropology. These new fields challenge our conventional ways of knowing and understanding the world around us. They call for the development of a computational and evolutionary epistemology - a philosophical core for posthuman science. Please visit my website to find out more... MY eBay INTERESTS I collect broadly in the history of computing, including hardware and print material, artistic and technical. I also found eBay to be a great place to meet fellow collectors and colleagues before they censored our email addresses. Favorite Links Please visit my web site: |
