Tana Taylor is an American folk artist residing in the Sacramento area. She has sold her work at many craft and art fairs over the years, and online since May 1997.
In addition to making primitive and folk art cloth dolls, Tana also enjoys incorporating bits and pieces of vintage textiles into a variety of items -- her Santa dolls often sport coats fashioned from antique quilt and trousers made from vintage feather ticking, and her pillows made from 19th century handwoven coverlet are an especially popular item.
Tana's work has been featured in several publications. Maine Antiques Digest featured one of her dolls in a story about the California Country Antiques Show in their October 2002 issue. She was honored to have one of her schoolgirl embroideries featured on the cover of The Country House's catalog in 1998. Her work was also featured in an article about the store, Nantucket Country, located in Kobe, Japan.
Over the past two decades, Tana has become both an accomplished basket weaver and primitive-style embroiderer. Her baskets won her admission to several prestigious juried art fairs in the Midwestern U.S. in the 1980s, and her schoolgirl embroideries were a hit on both coasts in the 1990s.
You can find Tana's work here on eBay, as well as her own web site. Due to eBay's current policy regarding links on
pages, you will need to contact her for information about other ways to purchase her work.
In her spare time, Tana also enjoys blogging, geocaching, web design, and keeping up with eBay's latest twists and turns.
