Poultry enthusiast--
Raising poultry has been great for stress relief, educational opportunity for kids, conversation pieces, garden manure and all around mental health. I've been very fond of the silkies and bantam cochins. In 2008 we just started setting eggs in incubator, with poor initial results. But my suggestion for mountain west poultry raisers--use a Genesis 1588 if not a broody hen. Love to attend the poultry shows and swaps. Am looking forward to hatching other varieties of cochin--splash, mille fleur, buff columbian; will try tolbunts and Jersey Giants sometime. |
