I've been in love with art my whole life. I have fond memories as a child watching my Grandpa paint and my Grandma on my mother side always had a knack for creating the most beautiful items with the ladies at the church auxiliary.
It was in high school that my art teacher sparked my imagination for art. He was a great inspiration and teacher. He took about 10 of his art students to Italy for 2 weeks with the American Institute of Foreign Studies to study art. It was a once in a lifetime experience to see all the wonderful works of art from some of the world best artists.
I come from a wonderful talented family from both sides. On my mother side, my Great Uncle Francis Langlois was the Founder of today highly collected vintage perfume and makeup lines of the 1920's. Cara Nome is the most popular to collect and still today Mom and I always keep our eyes open for a rare find.
Over the years I have taken a few impressionism classes and have realized that I am always learning and trying to improve my art. My family has always been my biggest supporters. Allowing me to paint murals and decorate their homes. I'm happy to say they have always approved.
I have always had a love for anything vintage and time worn especially old plates. My love for dishes is what got me started in mosaics. Ie been creating with bits of china and other unique finds for about 7 years now and love every minute of it. I love to combine my love of painting and mosaics in my art.
Finally, I would like to say that my art would not have been possible without the support and love of my parents who loved traveling with me when I was doing my art shows in Central Texas. My wonderful husband of 14 years helps with repairs and cutting out my mirrors. I have two wonderful boys who thank me that the whole house isn't done in pink roses.
