It's All About Pucks And Rivermen Memorabilia

Used to be one of my basement walls

Hello Everyone. My name is Andy Schmidgall. I am an avid hockey puck collector with over 3600 different non-autographed logo hockey pucks in my personal collection as of this day, March 22, 2009. I collect pucks from most North American pro team's and/or league's. Mainly NHL, AHL, IHL, WHA, ECHL and a few other vintage defunct leagues. My pride and joy is Peoria hockey pucks from the Rivermen, Prancers and Blades. I have over 100 different pucks with Peoria logo's.

I also collect any Peoria hockey memorabilia. Anything from card sets, programs, game giveaway's, jersey's, etc. Peoria started its long hockey history in the 1970's with a team called the Blades. They played in the ContHL (Continental Hockey League) until 1982. The IHL (International Hockey League) came to town in '82 with a team called the Prancers. They played as the Prancers for 2 seasons before the city bought the team and changed the name to the Rivermen in 1984. They remained in the IHL till the 95-96 season. They joined the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League) in 1996 and ended there rein in the league in 2005. They moved into the AHL (American Hockey League) in 2005 were they are the top AAA affiliate for the St. Louis Blues of the NHL (National Hockey League).
