Hi, Welcome to my page about how I got started collecting almost fifty years ago . My first collection was rocks which my Mother hating washing my pants due to some rock formation that was in my pockets on laundry day.. My Grandfather and me would hunt for rocks when he came to visit and he make Grandma fit his clothes in her suitcase so he could take them back to his farm in Wisconsin. I also learned from him how to find arrowheads. I like finding rocks better even though I still look for arrowheads when I walk through a field. My big passion came when my parents took me on vacation and we stopped at Fenton Glassware Company and I bought my first piece of milk glass (cat shoe )and I have sought out glassware at auctions and visited most of the factories in Ohio ,Kentucky and West Virginia . I love how glass makers pull and stretch a piece of glass and form it . At Dagenhart Glass Company I got to meet Mrs. Dagenhart before she passed on and she signed a paperweight for my Mother -in- Law. I visited most of these companies at least once or twice a year fill up the trunk and changed my color scheme in glass had a garage sale and time to visit again. I married into a family of antique dealers and learned more about the difference of the better old glassware and in 1972 I got started selling it at flea markets and shows .I have been doing this ever since at having my own shop and doing antique shows or just selling extras from those wonder boxes you get at auctions.

I have a library of at least a hundred books on antiques most are which on glassware. The more I read of these and study a new piece . I have found that I have only touch icing on the cake of glass knowledge. I love history and collect history books and love visiting the past at museums . I still have the Fenton shoe along with about twenty others and I love 1800 pressed glass. I love museums and still like those wonder boxes at auctions . I collect my Grandmothers depression dishes and owned at least 6 different sets of dishes . I use one set for almost each holiday . I have been collecting now abot 40 years and selling about thirty four years . I have had the experience of being taken for a fool of forged pieces which this lady sold all across America and about a year ago a piece of her forged stuff showed up on the Antique Road Show and they did not know how this was done which I emailed them about a similar piece that I owned which was marked the wrong way for Tiffany. They thank me for the info . I just found out about a new glass company I had no idea about which was Green town Made in Indiana . Thank you for stopping by . I hope I have something you may like
