Welcome to Pump Park Vintage Photography where we aim to offer a wide range of quality vintage images, backed up by excellent customer service.

We specialise in three broad themes: 'Grand Tour' travel pictures from the 19th century; vintage news prints, with an emphasis on World War I and World War II; vintage cinema publicity pictures from 1920-1970. UPDATE

Due to changes in eBay policy we are no longer able to offer optional insurance. As we are liable for any losses on items without proof of delivery, we feel obliged to send all international deliveries valued at over $250 using a tracked service. This costs an additional $6 - please allow us to add this to your invoice before you send payment. We apologise for this but feel we have little option. If you would like tracking on lower valued items, please let us know before you pay. 'Signed for' within the UK is available for $2.

Grading, shipping and other useful information:

The details below relate to our ORIGINAL PRINT listings.

We aim to scan the entire are of the image wherever possible. We also aim to make the scan as true a representation as possible of the original. We will never attempt to 'improve' an image. However sometimes it is only possible to to get reasonably close to the tones of the original - this is particularly true of tinted images - so there may be subtle variations in tone. 

In relation to auction items, descriptions will only detail only imperfections that are not visible in the scan. With regard to value items that go straight to our store - these do not have individual descriptions and buyers are invited to sudy the scan closely.

We grade on the following scale: Excellent/very good/good/fair/poor. In addition this may have a 'plus' or 'minus' qualification.

Excellent: A pristine picture for its vintage. Would be acceptable in any museum, or for sale in a gallery at a premium price. May only contain very slight imperfections that require close inspection to be visible. Will very rarely be used.

Very good: Quality images that may show some minor flaws or imperfections such as slight fading at the edges, small spots or a little wear to the surface.

Good:  Very presentable images, but showing some more significant signs of wear or age. For example: some fading  or discolouration, also foxing, nicks, tears and wrinkles, or some bubbling where the image has been stuck to the mount. The overall impression of the picture must still be positive.

Fair: One or more of the above flaws that undermines the overall impression of the picture. However despite this the image still retains some interest or merit. 

Poor: Will not be offered.

This applies to paper prints only. For any cased images that we may offer, please rely on he individual item description.

We hope this allows you to bid with more confidence. We want every transaction to be satisfactory for both of us, however inevitably at some point there will be a problem. We would like to try to resolve this before either of us feels the need to leave negative feedback.    

If you feel we have inaccurately described an image in a significant way, then we are happy to take it back. Your knowledge of the background or history of any image is always welcomed. 

Payment:  We aim to be as flexible as possible within the constraints of current eBay policy - please fee free to contact us about this.

We expect buyers to make contact within three days of a sale concluding, and would like payment to be sent within 7 days where possible.  Any item not paid within 28 days of a sale concluding will be re-offered and negative feedback will be left. If you wish us to store one or more prints pending the outcome of other auctions, that is fine, but please ask first.

Postage and packing:  The cost is listed with each item, but if you buy one or more items then you only pay $1 for each additional item. However if items are at different rates then the higher will apply. All items are placed in archival sleeves and then sandwiched between four pieces of double thickness cardboard. Our shipping charges reflect the cost of this level of protection and the use of premium materials. We would ask buyers to respect this - by not asking us for us to reduce charges, or by marking down our seller ratings for our shipping charges. It is in everyone's interest that the item arrives in the same state as when it was mailed.

If you have specific requirements please let us know or if you want us to hold pictures for you then we are happy to do so, but please ask.  We endevaour to ship all lots within 7 days of payment, usually 2-3 days. If there is a delay for any reason we will inform you.

All items are sent with a certificate of posting giving the buyers name and post code to prevent disputes.
