I pondered long and hard about what to put upon this page,

and finally came to the conclusion-

that the substance of my passions and collections-

are entirely her fault!

AND SO

it is to my mother that I dedicate this page!

MY MOTHERS' KNEE,

How to embroider with the chubby, tiny hands of a

7 year old child...

That I learned:

with the impatient, confusion of an adolescent,

how to sew, rip out,

and mend

my mistakes-

and make something beautiful of them!

That I learned:

How to crochet a simple thread,

into a tapestry of patience and warmth-

or a

Whimsy of lace beauty!

And

it was

That it is the

that goes into all things!
