Bonjour, my name is Eve and I have been selling collectable vintage clothing on eBay since January 2001. I have collected vintage clothing since the 60's. I have always been an avid "junker", hitting every swap meet, garage sale and antique store I came across. Lovely old clothing in my size, as I am tall was hard to find, but I managed over the years to find some choice pieces, and I have treasured them. Then a few years ago I discovered eBay and I was in heaven, more vintage clothing than I could wish for...
My house is over run with wonderful pieces, and I list a few every week. I is hard to part with any of them, deciding which one to sell is the stressful part of my day, but I have retired from dress design, so this is now what I do to fill my day. I mostly collect 20's Deco and Edwardian gowns, the party dresses and evening gowns, the glamour pieces, but I have a few 40's and 50's pieces too, the old torch singer dresses or burlesque gowns, the sexy Hollywood styles. I try to offer the better pieces, both in style and condition, but remember, each dress is different, and the amount it can be restored to varies from dress to dress.
All vintage clothing has some imperfection, so it is very important that you ask questions so we can have a sucessful transaction. Due to the delicate nature of vintage clothing there are no returns unless an item is misrepresented. I do not do vintage clothing shows as I do not want my items pawed thru and manhandled. Please be careful of fit, most very old items will not fit the modern body and are for the collector. Items are measured at the full, so make sure to allow for ease. I try to sell clothes that are in excellent condition for their age, but on occasion I sell a dress that is not holding up too well, but that is so beautiful it is still desirable to the collector, these I mark as not wearable, for study or display. I take large photos and you do not have to click on them to see them enlarged, so they are easy to view. And remember to ask questions to be sure the dress you are considering is the right one for you......
People always comment on the "queenofthefairies" and on how beautiful the fairy picture is. My brother gave me the art work as a birthday present when I turned 40, ages ago. I collect sensual ladies as art in my home, but this was my first fairy art. So when I was registering for eBay and I am seeing all these sellers with clever names I am wondering what to call myself. I was stressing trying to come up with something as I have a very hard time naming anything. I had my daughter home from the hospital for three weeks with them calling everyday saying they had to have a name for the birth certificate, I have three bunnies with no names and a turtle called Mr. Turtle, you get the picture. (The animals just showed up on my back doorstep and now have the run of the house and yard as I do not believe in cages.) So I was wandering around the house and I looked at the artwork and the name of the piece came to mind, "Queen of the Fairies". I opened up the frame and put her in the scanner, and have been very happy as the "fairy queen" ever since.
Please mark me as a favorite and eBay will send you a notice of when I put another of my lovely dresses up for auction. Good luck bidding, Enchanté...Eve
