The Well Dressed Reader

Hello and welcome.

Thanks for taking the time to find out a little about me and my eBay business.

My name is Randy Holland and  I came from New York City to Las Vegas in 1977 and worked in the Casino Industry as a Pit Boss until  I "retired" in 1995, moved to California and opened an art gallery, but had a bout with cancer that ended the gallery and brought me back to Las Vegas.  My wife, Donna,  is a School Teacher working on her Second Master's Degree who has a passion for teaching like I have for New York Cheesecake!.

I have made wonderful contacts for surplus Luxury European clothing and accessories - Guaranteed Authentic and straight from the source -and I get super deals on shelf-pulls from High End stores like Macys, Neiman Marcus, Victoria's Secret, and Bloomindales, and pass the savings on the you.

I have spent most of my life surrounded by successful, well-read,  financially astute people, so it was very natural to decide to concentrate on selling to people with high standards.

My books are from wholesale accounts with "remainder" companies,  and I also buy at library and estate sales. Most of the textbook and education books are from Donna's personal library of over 3000 books. She only sells to make room for new ones! The book prices for the quality you are getting is unsurpassed!

My business is licensed in the State of Nevada. My PayPal Business Account and eBay account are both Verified. I reply to all inquiries within 24 hours. I ship ONE business day after cleared payment, and - most importantly -  absolutely insist on your satisfaction. If you're not happy, I'm miserable.

Every item I sell, from a $1 Book to a $1000 Prada Purse is 100% money back guaranteed. If you get it and don't like it, send it back! No forms, no approvals, no nonsense. I will refund your full purchase price and if I have made an error of any kind, I'll refund the shipping both ways, too.

Please take minute to check my feedback, and if you have any questions or comments, just email me at thehollands3@cox.net or call 702-374-8219. Thanks for your business. Have a great day!

One of the ways The Well Dressed Reader gets its stock.

Most upscale department stores rotate their inventory every 60 days to maintain a "fresh" appearance and selection of clothing. After 60 days, the department stores liquidate items that have been on their sales floors/ warehouses to wholesalers. In most cases, it is simply a matter of having a few leftover sizes of certain items at the end of that time period. For example, the department store orders 100 Red Sweaters in sizes S-XL. At the end of 60 days, they have sold all but 1 Small, 1 Medium, and 2 Larges. This merchandise is designated as overstock / shelf pull apparel and can then be purchased by us.

We, in turn, inspect and make sure there are no flaws, then put them in The Well Dressed Reader for you to buy. Our items are exactly what you would have bought in the store, just minus the crowd and the high prices.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton, a trunk-maker in Paris since 1854, built up his legend around travel by creating luggage, handbags and accessories that were as innovative as they were elegant and practical. A century and a half later, the legend lives on. Louis Vuitton bags are now enhanced by the brand's international fame for it's originality and distinctive quality, such as those symbolized by the Monogram canvas design, which has been an unparalleled success since 1896 and a star figure of modern luxury and elegance. Innovation is an integral part of Louis Vuitton biography and history. For example, the Louis Vuitton bags with a five tumbler lock, a theft-proof lock with personalized number for each owner, is still in use today.

LOUIS VUITTON BIOGRAPHY Louis Vuitton was born in Anchay in the Jura Mountains in 1821. At age fourteen, he set out for Paris on foot. After two years of learning a trade, he arrived in Paris in 1837 where he is apprenticed to a packing-case maker. The history of travel has always been linked to this legendary Frenchman. The tradition of Louis Vuitton or LV bags goes back a long way. Louis Vuitton founded his company, the "House of Louis Vuitton" in 1854 based on the foundation of creating extraordinary quality and flawless craftsmanship in every Louis Vuitton bags. According to the Louis Vuitton biography, he often custom-made extravagant orders catering to the rich and beautiful, such as a 1930's toiletry case in crocodile skin and tortoise shell for a famous opera diva, and a desk trunk for conductor Leopold Stokowski. His visionary approach in designing Louis Vuitton bags was unrivaled during his days. A good example was in 1875, the couturier Charles Frédéric Worth divulged an important trade secret to Louis Vuitton: crinolines and leg-of-mutton sleeves would soon give way to softer materials. Louis Vuitton responded to this information by adding to his range of trunks with hanging space and several drawers: this became the famous Wardrobe, the first piece of furniture used for traveling. Louis Vuitton died in 1892. Over a hundred years after his death, the firm which bears his name still survives. It is now owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) and the legacy of LV bags are unmatched till today.

LOUIS VUITTON BAGS TODAY In recent years Louis Vuitton has dusted off it's slightly vintage image. The Louis Vuitton bags, still made of exotic leathers like alligator, lizard and ostrich, have been updated into a modern version of sporty or trendy luxury bags. The line now includes backpacks and fannypacks. But the most revolutionary change was the appointment of young American designer Marc Jacobs as Artistic Director in March 1997, the introduction of his ready-to-wear line, and his collaboration with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami which lead to the eye-catching Louis Murakami Vuitton bags or Multicolor LV bags. Never have the fashion conscious public seen a collection of Louis Vuitton bags of such a brilliant marriage of vintage elegance with trendy colors. The charismatic and photogenic Marc Jacobs has long been the darling of New York fashion critics. In 1987, when he was only 24 years old, Marc Jacobs won the prestigious CFDA award for "New Fashion Talent". In 1992 and 1998, he won it again for "Best Women's Wear Designer". What is most often associated with Marc Jacobs though, is the Grunge phenomena. In 1992, he made a famous collection for Perry Ellis that featured hand-stitched, layered, vintage-looking dresses that fashion editors loved and praised. Louis Vuitton bags have finally found a worthy successor to carry it's strong tradition into modern times.

KEY HISTORY OF LOUIS VUITTON BAGS: 1854 Creation of House of Louis Vuitton company. 1854 Louis Vuitton invented the flat trunk and covered it in his signature grey Trianon canvas. 1872 Creation of red and beige Striped canvas. 1888 Creation of Damier canvas. 1896 Creation of the hallmark Louis Vuitton Monogram canvas, with marvelous intertwined LV initials and simple flower shapes which made Louis Vuitton luggage and bags instantly recognizable. It was destined to become one of the most celebrated Louis Vuitton bags. It inspired the open leather bucket bag. 1959 Louis Vuitton grandson, Gaston Vuitton created a new chemical process to coat Monogram canvas with a waterproof layer of flexible and tough coating, making Louis Vuitton bags extremely durable. 1985 The birth of exceptional quality Epi leather, which give a two-tone contrast due to the coloration of surface grain. This line of LV bags are constantly updated with many lively colors. 1993 Launch of Taiga leather for men to travel in distinction and elegance. 1997 New line of leather-crafted Louis Vuitton pens. 1997 Fashion maestro Marc Jacobs joins Louis Vuitton as Artistic Director. It became one of the most eye-catching spring/summer collection ever launched. This is again the brainchild of the super-talented Marc Jacobs. This range of Louis Murakami Vuitton bags consist of many designs such as White Multicolor, Pink Blossom and Cherry Blossom, completing authentic Louis Vuitton bags successful facelift into modern designs with vintage flavors.

FENDI

Adele Casagrande started her first fur shop in Rome, Italy in 1918. In 1925, Adele married Edoardo Fendi and she changed the name of the shop to Fendi at this time. Fendi had a long list of loyal private clients, and in 1938 they opened a second shop in Rome. Over time the business continued to grow, and each of Adele's five daughters joined the family business as they became old enough. When Edoardo died suddenly in 1954, Adele was left the business to run with her daughters. Each daughter took on a specific task in the store and this proved to be a profitable move. The house of Fendi began to be recognized in higher social circles. Karl Lagerfeld, Famous designer for Coco Chanel, joined the Fendi family in 1965. He brought his creative expertise to this company, making them even more reputable and popular among the Elite of Italy. Fendi was an established name in luxurious furs and accessories, but when Lagerfeld joined the company, they set out to develop a new technique for using the furs. Together they developed a way to soften even the toughest of fur hides, and use them in coats and jackets. They would use pieces that no one would ever dream of using in a fur coat and nobody could tell the difference. They continued to find new ways to treat fur, including new methods in tanning and dying it, Already well known for their treatments of luxurious fur accessories and garments, Fendi was thriving, the company put on one runway show after another with great success. Soon, Fendi furs were being recognized all over the world. Adele Fendi was satisfied with the progress her company had made over the years but her daughters, a large presence in the Fendi Company, were unhappy about the clothing that was worn underneath the furs at runway shows. It was not long after the idea was launched, that the new clothing line from Fendi was introduced. Made of the finest quality materials in the style that only Fendi could produce, the clothing line was an instant success. The Fendi Company was once again on the top of the fashion industry. Karl Lagerfeld, inspired by the daughter's vision, set out to design accessories to accentuate the clothing line and furs. The design of the baguette handbag was perhaps the most notable accessory in the Fendi line.

GUCCI

Gucci is a very well known clothing and accessories designer that the vast majority of us would kill to wear. The company was started in Florence in the year of 1906 by Guccio Gucci, who was born in 1881. He seemed to have developed much skill working with leather at a young age. Around 1922, Gucci had started to make leather saddles for many horsemen who were traveling long distances. These saddles were strong, light and comfortable. As time went on Guccio started to make more than just saddles. In 1938, Guccio Gucci opened his own clothing line and first store in the city of Via Condotti located in Rome. Here is a little bit more about the company and its accomplishments. In 1947, the Gucci symbol became very famous around the world. A very first made product was the bamboo handle leather bag. This bag appeared around early 1948. The company now makes it all. From clothes to bags to fragrances, they even make shoes. Guccio Gucci did die in 1953, but his designs did not. His friends and family took all of his creations around the world. The designs went to Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Tokyo, and even Palm Beach. Now, we all know and see the Gucci symbol practically everywhere we go. This company has not only gone nationwide but worldwide also. Even though Guccio Gucci has died, the family has been taking over the company generation after generation. The year after Guccio had died, his brother Maurizio Gucci took over the family business. In the 1990's, Tom Ford, Gucci's newest executive head, has brought Gucci back to the center of chic, and now commands a varied line of products including leather fashions, perfumes, colognes, cosmetics, shoes (including the moccasin with the distinctive Gucci snaffle-bit). Suitcases, watches, jewelry, silk scarves, sports articles, belt clasps (the one with the Guccio Gucci's initials, was introduced 1964), ties, and eyeglasses were also made. Gucci is now a very famous company and the Gucci family does wish to keep it alive as a way to honor the magnificent Guccio Gucci and his magnificent work.

PRADA

Prada is a name that everyone knows. To own a Prada handbag elevated your social status a notch instantly. It was Mario Prada who started this company in 1913, with simple but elegant designs. Although Prada had two stores in Milan, his clientele was throughout the entire world. When the company first started, its main product was a very heavy walrus skinned suitcase that was inappropriate for airline travel because of its weight. Prada had an idea for a lighter easier to carry bag, and the Prada leather suitcase was made. Soon, Prada was designing leather handbags and accessories that would have the socially elite scrambling to get one. Mario Prada was extremely successful in his designs for several years, each product line that was introduced was exquisite and an instant success. People of all social levels scarmbled to purchase a Prada handbag. In 1978, Miuccia Prada became the CEO of the company and being the granddaughter of Mario, she had the fashion sense to keep the company going strong. Many felt that Miuccia Prada was did not have the qualifications or the experience to run the Prada company but she proved them all wrong. Although the Prada name was known throughout the world for its quality handbags and accessories, in the late 1970's, the company had already been struggling for several years. With competitors like Gucci and other famous names, sales had declined considerably. When Miuccia married her husband, business sales began to increase. This was due to the ingenious thinking of both Miuccia and her husband Patrick Bertelli. They began to perfect a whole new look for the Prada Company. Prada had been making black backpacks out of nylon since the 1970's. She and her husband expanded on this idea in 1985 to create the first handbag in the style of a backpack. This was an overnight sensation. Once again people of all social status' were flocking to buy a Prada handbag. In 1989, Prada designed a line of clothing that was simple but elegant made out of luxurious fabrics and earthy colors. Again, the Prada company product line soared, and the fashion world took notice. By 1990, Prada was once again on the top of the fashion industry. Designing product line after product line of instant successes. Prada started out as a company that designed heavy steamer trunks and bags and today it is one of the leading designers in the fashion industry. Imagine.
