AUCTION NEWS
My daughter has decided to auction some of the "art" and crafts that she makes with her Dad. She calls it her Dad and Me Collection. So, keep an eye out for her auctions. She has jumped on the "Mission" wagon and will donate portions of her auctions to her charity of choice.
We raised $575.00 in our October mission for my friend with Breast Cancer! Thank you to everyone who helped.
Now about Me and Ebay
You may ask yourself..."So, Why the name Rantingmama? It sounds so....so.... mean." Why yes it does, doesn't it? Well I'm not mean. Okay, just don't ask my daughter. It came from many years running boards for pregnant women, and then for new mothers. I would go off on a tear about something...hence the "rant".
Why eBay? Well why the heck not! My Mom (God rest her soul) used to take us shopping at Garage Sales and resale shops. I didn't like it much back then but boy do I get it NOW! She would have loved eBay. After buying for 5 years on eBay I finally decided it was time to try selling.
I've accumulated quite a bit in my few years on this earth.
Things like this broken little monkey. I found this old guy in the bottom of a box at a garage sale. They were throwing him out. Now he has a happy home in our banana tree(with a little help from some tape). So what if his belly is collapsed and he is missing arms. Look at that face. When you see him peering out at you from his own private jungle it just makes you love him. I'll be auctioning odd little items like him.Items with character that you may or may not want but hey...they all deserve a special place don't they?
I'm a big woman myself and know what it is like trying to find affordable clothing that doesn't look like someone sewed two tablecloths together. I try to find items that are still in good condition and that won't insult your good taste. The same goes for the petite items.
My daughter decided she wants to sell her clothes as well...so that will be up too. She also likes to make crafts and has asked me to sell them on eBay. We haven't gone that far yet.
Then there's that garage sale, estate sale bug I have. Hmmmm....wonder where that came from? Every time I tell my husband I'm going to an estate sale he gets the shivers. I usually come home with a car load of items. Quite a few of these wonderful things I'll be listing on eBay. I just love retro, deco and totally weird stuff. So eBay is just a great fun thing for me to do and to make a little extra money.
Ours is a family event. My daughter helps with weighing, measuring and packing. She even loves to take pictures of the items. My husband (the stay at home dad), takes boxes to the post office and labels most items. So we're an eBay family as you can tell. I love getting my eBay buys in the mail and hope that those who buy my items enjoy the whole process as well.
