new, FAQ, Book tips and much more.
Several
years ago I was as confused and frustrated—as you probably are today—but now
things are very different...
I remember years of frustration
trying to identify the provenance of the Wizard of Oz books. Which of them are
worth collecting? Why do they seem
to differ so much in price? Is the price necessarily indicated of value? Those
and many others were the questions that I tried to get answers to when I first
became interested in Oz books, and that is when I learned that the Oz
books series is one of the most complicated series for identification purposes.
While 99% of all books have a typical copyright year that instantly helps in
edition identification, the collectible Wizard of Oz books mostly contain only
one entry in the copyright page. So
does that mean that every Wizard of Oz book is the first edition book?
|
Because the identification is so difficult and takes knowledge and
experience, many people just like me obtained a number of Oz books and put the
collection together only later to realize that they have made a few mistakes in
identifying the books’ value. The
disappointment and frustration set in but also a realization that perhaps it is
worth talking to someone who is honest and truly understands the real value of
Oz books.
In the last several years I examined and verified
over 1000 copies of the Wizard of Oz books and consider myself an expert in the
field. If you want my free advice

About me:
I work full time in the computer field and have a degree in Computer Science. As a hobby, I collect and sell
Oz books. I don't have a store or employees, so I don't have to pay additional rent or salary. The income that generates from my hobby helps me to pay for my kids' college
tuitions, upgrade my Oz collection and obtain additional collectible Wizard of
Oz books. One of the reasons I get so excited about Oz books is because they are very complicated and, using my computer skills, I am able to find very rare books online. I realized that I can't go from store to store, auction to auction with the hope of finding Wizard of
Oz books. Rather, I'd have much better luck using the computer.
